(no subject)
I'm having this problemo with Caverly. Lately, he hasn't been using his box very much at all. He's always pooped on the floor, which is fine by me. I'd rather pick up terds off the floor than go digging through a litter box to get them! But lately he has been peeing everywhere. When he pees on the floor, most of the time he does it when i'm at work, so by the time I get home, it's dried up so i can't tell exactly where it was. I use all sorts of carpet cleaners and pe't oder removers...but the smell seems to still be there. which is bad, because then he smells his pee on the rug and thinks "oh! this must be where i'm supposed to pee!".
On occasion, this place is in my bed. WOO! Cav sleeps in bed with me at night...curled up into a sweet cute little ball of fuzz and i love it. He usually wakes up an hour or so earlier than me, and just purrs and "makes biscuits" no my side. And on occasion, i catch him putting his leg in the air getting ready to pee. so i'll grab him and put him in his box, since i have one in my room and one in the living room. Sometimes, i don't wake up with him....and he pees on my sheets. its usually no biggie, i just throw them into the wash before i leave for work. ugh..today, i woke up and my arm was soaking wet. at first, in my groggy just barely awake state, i thought "omg, did i really drool THAT much during the night??". then i realized my bed was soaked. and the backs of my shirt and shorts were soaked. cav had managed to pee on my sheet, comforter, both pillows, my new purple wife beater, and my sleep shorts. all in one shot. COOL! so i get changed, wash my pee covered arm, and pick him up to carry him into the other room. since i was planning on gathering up the sheets, and he freaks out when i do that kind of stuff. i made the mistake of putting on my favorite tank top. ugh. i picked him up and started walking out of my room when cav noticed my other cat, berry, sitting on the steps. he FREAKED out and clawed giant holes into my favorite shirt. sigh.
I'm not mad at him. He's my little babybuns and I'll love him always. But this morning sucked. and the fact that my living room smells like pee sucks.
Anyone have any suggestions on how I can get him to use his box???? It's so difficult for me to figure out a way to show him what's right and what's wrong. I know he knows that he's supposed to use his box, because sometimes he does! Maybe i'll start giving him treats when he uses his box. and then no treats on days that he pees on the floor. i dont know. i'm buying a pee sheet for my bed though....haha.
