Things of note:
1. The other earbud on my iPod headphones broke. That leaves, out of two pairs of headphones, 0.5 that works. I hope my new ones from LiveSearch come soon.
2. On Sunday, I ran into one of those people from last semester that I've been avoiding because the whole "btw, I transitioned" thing is so awkward. His name's Jimmy and he works at the caf, and it was extra awkward because he saw me and recognized me but couldn't remember my name. I went through my options and eventually just managed, "Um. Actually, I changed it. It's Justin." He was just like, "Oh, okay" -- which I expected, but it's still awkward whether or not they're good people. *shrug*
3. The RA friended me back. No comment or anything. Haven't seen her since then.
4. At the caf today, they had hot chocolate cobbler, and it was definitely that kind of day (y so windy, Oklahoma?). So I get some after dinner and turns out they're out of vanilla ice cream. "We only have strawberry ice cream," says the girl working there, very apologetically. ONLY? Hot chocolate cobbler (which, for those who've never had the pleasure, is effectively undercooked brownie batter) and STRAWBERRY ICE CREAM? That sounded like whole new levels of awesome, and so I was all over that. It was delicious. In the future, cafeteria, please make it known that you have strawberry freaking ice cream. And don't be so sorry about it! That's a highlight, not a drawback, y/y?
4. I think I'll do another vlog soon.
5. Cross your fingers that inspiration for that futurefic for writing_game comes tonight.
ETA: Ah, televsion was an adventure tonight.
Someone was watching the BET awards on our floor, so I went down to the first floor and a guy was watching something there too. So I went up to the twelfth floor and, yup, the Office was on. So I went back to our floor, asked nicely, and no dice. Then I remembered I hadn't actually approached the guy on the first floor. When I did, he was more than happy to let me have the remote (he'd only been watching HSM2 for lack of anything better to do while doing Arabic homework), so I only missed the teaser. Then he watched SN with me till ten-till.
Then at about 9:30,as I was watching Eleventh Hour, people started showing up one by one. They got really loud and it turned out they were there to watch Beauty and the Beast. I could barely hear my show, and I tell you, it has NEVER been so long until a commercial; and even my flopping down onto the floor in front of the footrest didn't cue them in that maybe they should shut up. Finally, 15 minutes later, when a commercial came on, I bailed. They were like "You can stay and finish!" and I'm like, "No, they're probably done on my floor, that's okay!" and thinking "um, no thanks, you're making it completely unwatchable". Turns out they weren't done on my floor, but the twelfth was empty except for some guy on his phone. (Who brightened my day on several levels by replying to my "It okay if I watch something?" with "Sure, dude, I'll go back to my room. *leaves*".) Hooray for peace and quiet.
And, in review: God, Supernatural was AWESOME (lol scared!Dean ftw, Yorkie for the EPIC WIN, and Eye of the Tiger (and Jared laughing off-camera) for words-cannot-do-justice-to-the-win-that-was-that-SN-Psych-out. :DDDD) As for Eleventh Hour, what I could hear of it wasn't bad. (Ice cream ftlulz.) And it looks great next week. I keep reading that the original was so much better, and -- judging by Life on Mars -- it probably is, but, as a new fan, I can't help enjoying it on its own merits. And hoping that there'll be fic soon.
