Warning: Rant Ahead
I think I coming to seriously resent and dislike The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Not so much for itself, although it is pretty dumb, as for the damage it has left in it's wake.
3 years or so ago, when several Phoenix Games regulars, among others, first formed The Come Again Players I had reservations. Phoenix had A wonderful thriving community going and I worried that the new project might detract from that community. Either by drawing energy away from the store or by breeding interpersonal issues that would spill over to, and create problems for, the Phoenix group.
As most of you are likely aware those forebodings of doom have become reality. Phoenix is a shell of it's former self; scarcely a day passes when nasty gossip fails to rear it's ugly head; the unity of fellowship and shared goodwill has seriously eroded. an alarming number of people, including many former pillars of the community, actively shun the store!
There are many reasons for this decline, and none of us is exempt from some measure of blame, but I think the lions share of our troubles can be traced, directly or indirectly, back to Rocky.
Decisions are made; sometimes good, sometimes bad, either way someone will probably be unhappy, but LIFE GOES ON. Anger at a single individual shouldn't mean abandoning the COMMUNITY!
I urge everyone who reads this to remember the good times, and know that they could return.
We had something great here once people, lets nurse it back to health, not leave it to die like roadkill.
