Summary: It’s Ueda’s birthday and Ryo has to go to Osaka for Kanjani 8 projects. However, Ueda gets called out to Osaka by a sempai to celebrate his sempai’s brother’s opening of his new Host Club. What does Ryo have in store for Ueda on his birthday?
Note: I’m sorry that Ueda’s birthday fic is so late. I did it a couple of days ago but I didn’t have time to upload it.
“Hey, I have to go back to Osaka tomorrow morning and I won’t see you for an entire week.” Ryo said as he pulled Ueda in closer to envelope him in a tight embrace. “I’ll miss you, you know. You better not cheat on me while I’m gone.”
Ueda smiled, “Like I’d have time to. KAT-TUN’s schedule is too hectic for me to even bother check out other people.”
“Don’t just show your smile to anybody, understand? You can only show it to me.” Ryo frowned at the thought of Ueda smiling at other people besides him. It was one of the reasons why he fell in love with Ueda to begin with since Ueda’s smile just radiates even from afar.
“What? I can’t even smile now? Why?”
“It’s not that you can’t smile completely. It’s just that you can’t smile with anybody other than me.”
“What’s the difference? That’s practically the same thing!” Ueda argued.
“Nonetheless. I don’t want you to. Besides, you don’t want the other guys pestering you, right?” Ryo explained but obviously failing miserably.
“What does my smiling at people have anything to do with being pestered by people?” Ueda asked, more confused now.
“Why are you so slow? Now, I’m forced to say it. What I meant is that when you smile, you look-- you know, you look-- beautiful and so what I’m trying to say is that people might easily fall in love with you which is why I don’t want you to smile at just anybody, understand?” Ryo said in a rush as he looked away to hide the tint on his face that he knows now occupies his cheeks.
“What on earth are you talking about? What fall in love? What?!” Ueda looked at his boyfriend, dumbfounded.
Ryo was about to reply when he got interrupted by Subaru who showed up in the doorway, who looked at the both of them passively and with a furrowed eyebrow, he nodded towards Ryo’s direction and went out of the room as quickly and as quietly as he had come.
“Don’t mind him. He’s having some problems. Anyways, it seems that I have to leave now so I’ll see you in a week.” Ryo pulled Ueda closer to him and hugged him tightly. Softly, Ryo lowered his lips towards Ueda’s ears and whispered, “Remember what I said about your smile and I promise to call you every night.” With that, Ryo simply kissed Ueda on the cheek for a moment that lasted forever.
Ueda simply nodded and watched Ryo’s retreating back with a smile. Once Ryo was out of the door, Ueda gathered his things and prepared himself to leave as well. However, just when he was about to pull open the door, it surprised him to see that Ryo still hadn’t left yet.
“I forgot something.” Ryo blushed a tint of red.
“Well, I didn’t see any--” Ueda got cut off as Ryo delved his lips unto Ueda’s. Slowly. Sweetly. Gently, at first. Then, hungry. Passionate. It all happened so quickly that Ueda was unable to think about anything else but the oblivion he was sent to by Ryo’s hungry and passionate kisses.
The two of them only separated once both had needed air to breathe.
“That’s what I forgot. Anyways, I should probably go now before I piss them off for making them wait any longer than I already have.”
“Yes, you should go already! I’ll see you in a week‘s time.” Ueda smiled.
Ueda left the Jimusho with Ryo. Outside, Ryo and the rest of Kanjani 8 waved goodbye to him and he waved back at them before heading to his own car to go home.

Once home, Ueda thought that he could finally be by himself and enjoy such rare times since he barely has time to do anything else for himself such as reading good books or cooking because whenever Ryo’s around, he doesn’t make him do anything.
During their days off, Ryo usually just makes Ueda stay in their bedroom with him for the entire day cuddling or something of the sort.
Ueda is sad and happy at the same time. Sad because he misses Ryo already. Happy that he finally gets to catch up with the things only he could do during his time alone with himself.
Ueda just settled himself down on his leather couch with a good book in hand when his cell phone rang.
“Oi Ueda!” A man with a deep husky voice said in a cheerful manner.
“Hn? Kyo-sempai.” Ueda replied sleepily.
“What HN do you mean! Is that a proper way to greet me! Anyways, could you meet up with me tomorrow? My brother’s opening up his shop so he invited me and you.”
“If you hadn’t noticed, it’s already so late. What kind of a normal person calls other people so early in the morning! It’s only 1AM!” Ueda said in an irked voice.
“Sorry to ruin your beauty sleep but is being pretty more important that my brother’s invitation? I only called so early because it’s already tomorrow. I’m sorry that I forgot to call you before. I had so much things going on at the school besides you know how it gets.”
“So I see that you’re still in demand.” Ueda said. “Yes, I’ll be able to make it tomorrow.”
“Oh what a relief! You guys are so popular now that I didn’t think you’d be available. It’s like everywhere I turn the channel, they’re always talking about KAT-TUN. You guys are so busy.”
“Yes. Our group does have such a busy schedule which is why I’ll most likely be late tomorrow. I’ll see what happens first. If I get lucky, then I’ll head there straight away. But if not, I’ll have to come after all of our tapings.”
“As long as you come. Otherwise, my brother would want my head. That guy will immediately assume that I forgot to tell you!”
“But you did! Anyways, I have to sleep now if you want me to see you tomorrow so I’ll contact you when I can. Good night sempai.”
“Oi! Ueda! Don’t you da--” was the last thing Ueda heard Kyo say before hanging up his phone.

The next day.
“U-E-D-A?! I thought you said that you were going to be late? How come you’re extremely early?” Kyo said, surprised.
“Jin had an accident. That baka most likely thought that he was Superman and decided to slide on the metallic railings of the stairs. He probably thought he could fly from the 6th floor down. You know how Jin gets when he’s hyper. He’s very unpredictable and becomes all dare-devil like.” Ueda smiles.
“I know what you mean! Jin can be so entertaining sometimes that you just want to be around him enough just to see what kind of stupid stunts he’ll pull off next.” Kyo laughs harder than Ueda as he pictures Jin doing what he does best.
“So, where is this place?” Ueda asked, dumbfounded as he looked at several men’s pictures with their names on it in a huge billboard looking seductively sexy.
“My brother used his great skills with women and turned it into a Host Club. He currently has 22 employees working for him.”
Ueda’s eyeballs almost popped out from their sockets with this new information.
“Your brother--he--he’s a Host Club owner now? What!” Ueda said in utter shock. Kyo placed his arms around Ueda’s shoulder to help Ueda keep his balance.
Unknowingly to Ueda, a sexy Osaka man’s headed towards him upon being seen at second glance.
Kyo was ushering Ueda inside by maneuvering him using his arms as a way to guide Ueda in. However, just as they were about to set foot inside the Host Club, strong, muscular arms forcefully pulled Ueda back from out of nowhere causing him to stumble backwards and just as he was about to fall on his ass, somebody had lifted him up with strong, powerful arms to prevent him from falling and hurting himself.
Ueda turned around to figure out what the hell was going on when he became speechless at the sight before him.
“R-ryo.” Ueda stuttered.
“It’s funny that you stutter when I catch you cheat on me red-handed. I thought I made it clear yesterday before I left Tokyo that you weren‘t supposed to smile at just anybody!” Ryo glared at Ueda and forcefully planted a kiss on his lips harshly. Ueda didn’t budge and simply let Ryo continue.
“Now, who the fuck are you? Did you see that? This here--” Ryo pulls Ueda in by his tie and passionately planted a mark on Ueda’s neck. “Is mine. You understand?” Ryo glared at the taller man with long, beautiful blonde locks.
“So, get the fuck away from my boyfriend and find some other prey to have sex with, you hear!”
Kyo met Ryo’s glare and didn’t let himself be intimidated by the famous Kanjani 8 member.
“He was mine first before he was yours. Isn’t that right, Ueda? If you want proof, you can easily look at his navel tattoo. Did you seriously think it was a fairy? You loser, look closely and you’ll see that it’s a ‘K’ delicately imprinted on his beautiful, porcelain skin.” Kyo snickered as if he had won the 6/49 lottery. He felt satisfied with himself as he let a smirk creep into his features as he knew that his argument with that punk Ryo most likely got himself riled up.
Meanwhile, outside, Ueda looked away nervously since Ryo is mad. Mad as if hell’s about to unleash itself upon earth.
“What the fuck was that? How did that host know who you are? The way you were smiling up at him and the way he casually holds you in his arms. What the fuck was all of that? Don’t you dare fucking tell me that you’re a regular in this club! How the hell did you even get here? You traveled all this way to see this guy? What, I’m not good enough for you? TELL ME!” Ryo yelled on the top of his lungs that the thick veins on his neck becomes even more visible, as he punched the wooden surface of the wall beside Ueda’s head, missing by a couple inches.
Ueda became speechless since he didn’t even know how one innocent invite led to all of this drama. He merely looked away from Ryo since he couldn’t force himself to face him. Otherwise, he’d end up crying. Instead, Ueda shook his head.
“Answer me! Look at me when you talk to me! Look at me!” Ryo demanded in a yell.
“No. It’s not like that. Kyo-senpai was my music tutor. He’s the one who educated me with piano and electric guitars. He helped me become passionate about music and he was the one who helped me pursue my dream to become a musician. If it wasn’t for him, you and I wouldn’t have ever met since I’d have been some kind of business mogul somewhere in the world. So, don‘t worry. It‘s nothing.” Ueda said softly, trying to calm his nerves down as well as trying to calm Ryo’s most especially.
“Don’t tell me it’s nothing! Clearly he just told me that you have his first initial tattooed on your navel! Your navel for gods sakes! I’ve never even seen your navel before.” Ryo yelled angrily. “Only one way to find out.”
Ryo immediately had his hands up on Ueda’s shirt and pulled it up to reveal his boyfriend’s navel that evidently had a fairy print on it. However, if a person looked at it the second time, the fairy disappears all of a sudden and is then replaced by a delicately printed ‘K’. Just like what Kyo had claimed.
“Care to explain? Because my patience really is wearing thin. I can only hold out for so long. It’s either you start explaining now or I beat the crap out of him.” Ryo threatened with an aggravated, murderous look on his face, determined to hurt somebody that crosses him.
“Kyo is my childhood friend and then my dad appointed him as my bodyguard at one point since Kyo had much more of a bigger built than I did. Naturally, we became what you and I are now considering how close we were. But that was a really long time ago and we were still young so I don’t think it counts. Just forget about it. I mean, it doesn‘t really matter.” Ueda explained in a rush to prevent Ryo from kicking the snot out of Kyo.
“He has his mark on you forever and you’re telling me that he doesn’t mean anything to you? Do you seriously expect me to believe that bullshit? Surely if he didn’t mean anything to you, you wouldn’t have gone all this way to Osaka for nothing, right? Were you expecting to reconcile with your old love while I was away? I mean, you wouldn’t even leave Tokyo for me and you left for Osaka for that man and now, you expect me to believe that he doesn’t mean anything to you?” Ryo yelled in rage. He’s so mad that he wanted to punch someone, something, anything.
“Yes! You have to believe me because I only came with him cos--” Ueda tried to get his explanation out but he keeps on being cut off by Ryo.
“If for a long time, he didn’t mean anything to you like you claim…why did you never get his mark removed off of your body?! Why! Answer me!”
That was it. Ueda’s tears readily flowed from his tear ducts and he couldn’t help himself from crying especially when the only person he loved kept on accusing him of being unfaithful when he hadn’t been at all.
“I admit that I still do care for Kyo! But not in the way that you think! We’ve just been together for so long that I don’t know how else to treat him other than how I’ve grown to treat him. I came all the way here in Osaka because his brother who is also my childhood friend is opening up a shop which happens to be that Host Club over there and we’re supposed to celebrate it here!” Ueda pointed at the Host Club in front of them. “I swear, I was supposed to have schedules today but then Jin was stupid and he hurt himself so we couldn’t even tape anything today. I knew you were calling me several times all day but I didn’t answer because I was too busy driving here and I wanted to surprise you! I was thinking of visiting you once I’m done with this. But then you showed up just to make me upset!” Ueda cried harder. Realization dawned on Ryo and his facial expressions became softer and visibly, all of his anger flew out of the window that instant. He just can’t stay angry at Ueda for such a long time. His body, his heart, his soul and mind simply can’t bare it any longer than it’s already been. Immediately, he forgives Ueda.
Ryo pulled Ueda closer to his chest. He kissed the trails of Ueda’s tears and wiped them away by his soft kisses as Ryo caressed Ueda‘s face.
Ueda looked up to stare intently in Ryo’s brown orbs. “I didn’t want to get my tattoo redone because first of all, I’m scared that they’ll end up messing my good skin and also the fact that with the first glance, it looks like a fairy anyways and everybody will initially think that since a lot of people know that I used to like fairies so much so nobody will think anything of it and so I didn’t think anymore of it either until now.”
Ryo simply nodded. “Princess.”
Ryo continued with a smile, “That means I’ll just have to keep marking you then. Enough to last you a lifetime.” He then proceeded back to Ueda’s neck and started to harshly mark Ueda which will most likely last for about a week.
“I’ll have to mark you again in a couple of days but I’m not complaining.” Ryo grinned.
They were in the middle of a hot, passionate kiss when Ryo stopped short.
“Hang on a second. You said that Kyo and you were in a relationship that you and I now have, right? But you didn’t sleep with him, did you? Because if he did, I can’t promise the man’s safety, Ueda. I‘d have no choice but to want to strangle him.”
“Of course not! We were only teenagers back then. I’d have been too scared to try anything of the sort even if it costs me my life. Like I told you before, you were my first of everything.” Ueda said sweetly and Ryo pulled him back again into a passionate snogging session.
After pulling out their mouths from each other’s faces to catch their breaths, Ryo pulled out two things from his pocket.
“It’s your birthday today and I was about to head back to Tokyo when I saw you here on the way. Anyways, I wanted to surprise you so I begged everybody to let me have a day off today because today is special. Not only is it special because it’s your birthday…it’s also even more special because I’ve decided, “Will you promise to be with me forever?”
Ryo handed out a velvety-leather box to Ueda. Ueda opened it and it revealed a simple silver band that consisted of two diamonds in the center.
“Yes! Of course, I will! I’d be insane not to, don’t you think?” This time, it’s Ueda’s turn to pull Ryo in a hug and into a passionate kiss.
“See, the two diamonds in that silver band represents us. I know you like things to be kept simple but then I really thought about it and this is what I came up with so I hope you like it anyways. The two of us shine the brightest whenever we’re together and the circle band represents eternity. So that means, we’ll shine brightly together forever.” Ryo blushed deeply as those words escaped his lips. He felt himself embarrassed as he‘s not used to saying such things.
“Heh, who helped you? Somebody must have!” Ueda laughed.
“I came up with it all by myself. Shige told me that people who are in love just naturally comes up with such things so he told me to think hard about it and I did. So, that‘s what I came up with. If you must know, you‘re the only person I‘ve ever said those words to and you‘re the only one person that I‘ll ever say those words to and no one else. Not in this lifetime anyways, you understand?” Ryo smiled as he turned scarlet from embarrassment. “Anyways, I have a present for you.”
“A proposal and a present all on my birthday? What more could I ask for?”
“Ueda, get your hand out.” Ryo said and once Ueda did, Ryo dropped a key in his palm.
“Will you stay with me forever?” Ryo asked determinedly, never taking his eyes off of his lover. It’s another set of keys to Ryo’s house. The keys mean that Ryo is inviting Ueda to come and live with him.
“Yes, I will.” Ueda is so happy that for the second time that day, he’s the one who initiated the passionate kiss that took place between them.
Ryo pinned Ueda against the wall by his wrists, his shirt already half-way unbuttoned and with Ryo’s legs in between Ueda’s thighs--they were so busy that they didn’t notice everybody from the inside came outside and looked as though they hadn’t seen anything out of the ordinary.
“Well, you guys were taking too long to come up so we decided to come down instead. We didn’t know you guys were busy but you can continue that later! As for now, Ueda-kun has to attend to these sparklers on the cake!” Kyo’s brother, the Host Club Owner said in a most cheerful tone.
In unison, everybody said, “OTANJOUBI OMEDETOU, UEDA TATSUYA-KUN!”
Everybody took turns in hugging Ueda from the front, from the back and from the side. After that, everybody went back upstairs to enjoy the food that Kyo’s brother had prepared for Ueda’s surprise birthday party. Kyo’s brother even went as far as provide them with as much cases of alcoholic drinks as he could since he knew that everybody needed a break from their hectic lifestyles.
Downstairs, Ueda and Ryo continued where they had left off before they got interrupted not too long ago by their friends. Meanwhile, upstairs, everybody’s also getting hardcore drunk. The rest of KAT-TUN were pretty much drunk already. The rest of NEWS and Kanjani 8 were just being extremely silly with one another and having fun. Everyone enjoyed Ueda Tatsuya’s Sweet 24 in Osaka.
It is the best birthday yet.
