Canastapallooza was a blast, it was great to see Aunt Faye and Norma Jean one more time before we move to Japan. It's going to be sad to miss it for the next few years. NJ and her daughter Tina gave Annelise a baby gift, they're such sweethearts! I didn't play any games since Skip-Bo was left at home and I'm the only one that likes Phase 10, but I got some knitting done and got lots of rest. It's a good thing I made 2 packages of cookies, we ate them all.
I finished my childbirth class last night, I'm apparently ready to have a baby. My next appointment is Thursday and I'm going to run lots of errands that day. I'm working on cleaning my room so that Dad can hopefully set up the crib this weekend. We're planning a trip to Babies-r-us in a few weeks to buy the carseat/stroller and after that will techically be ready for Annelise's arrival.
They're making progress on my parents' house, the framing is almost done. They would have finished that today but there was a short rain shower that slowed them down. I peeked in the windows (well, window-holes) and everything seems so much smaller than the plans show. I know that's the point of this house, it's just weird to see. We'll hopefully get windows and doors in in the next week and then get the brick on. Now that the framing's almost done, we can start having more than one contractor in at a time. They can do plumbing and electrical while the bricker is working, and once that's done we can get the insulation and drywall in. After that it's just putting on the roof, staining the floors, and putting in cabinets and appliances. I can't believe how fast everything is going to go! We're praying that we're in by Christmas, it would be nice to put up the Christmas tree for the last time with my family. Mom's getting a Christmas tree closet so we don't have to take everything down every year, we can just roll it into the closet. So the first Christmas in the new house will be the last time we put up the tree for a long time.
John's doing well, he's about to start the most difficult phase of the class so I've got to get used to not talking to him as much. He's almost done with his paper and I'm confident that he'll do well during this phase. He continually amazes me with how smart he is and how well he is doing at school. They place a lot of demands on these guys and John keeps figuring out how to deal with them. I feel very lucky to be married to a man like that, it's nice to know I can always depend on him to help me figure things out.
