Lots to update about, my life continues to stay busy. Last weekend was Mary and Rusty's wedding, it was absolutely beautiful. Mary looked amazing and even though some people didn't like the bridesmaid dresses, I thought they were cute. The hall looked amazing, even though it was really crowded. I did well doing the reading at Mass, and it was hilarious watching the kids walk down the aisle. Samuel did very well and walked right up the aisle to stand next to his 'buddy' Paul, Carleigh had just woken up from a nap and was sleepy and shy, Carsyn was a little confused and just tried to follow everyone else, and Kolton stopped to talk to people he didn't know and then ran giggling up the rest of the way.
I saw some people that I hadn't seen in a long time, and most of the people I was dreading seeing weren't even there. Alisha's baby is adorable and huge, he already weighs 11 pounds and is only a month old. I looked super hot, everyone loved my dress. However, pregnancy brain kicked in and I forgot to get a pic of myself.
Tuesday I drove to Wichita Falls to see Mandy and her family for a few days. We had a great time talking and shopping and eating yummy food. On Wednesday we ate lunch with Rebecca, Emma, Owen, Jody, and Aaron. I can't get over how big Owen and Emma are, they were only a year old when they moved to Clovis and are now 4. Owen has come out of his shell and talked to me whenever I would listen and Emma is as beautiful as ever, she looks just like Rebecca. Jody and her family left Clovis 2 years ago, so it was probably good I didn't see her older kids; I would have definitely cried. Baby Aaron is so adorable, if I hadn't been pregnant I would have tried to take him home with me. I figure it would have been a great birthday present for my mom. ;) Rebecca's family gave Annelise a baby book and a Dr Seuss board book that I can't wait to read to her. There was also a surprise gift from my favorite Buckeye in Buckeye, Keegan sent a musical Fisher Price toy for Annelise's crib.
My favorite part of the trip was watching Mandy's daughter at cheer practice. Sarah is in first grade and cheers for pee wee football. It was so cute watching those 6-8 year-olds do cheers. I recognized some of them from my days as a cheerleader and was mouthing the words along with them. Their sense of rhythm isn't the greatest, so it was funny watching them clap during the cheers; they all had a different beat.
I really miss my AF friends and am looking forward to moving to Misawa and meeting new people, forming new friendships. Those people are really the ones who help me get through everything. Husbands don't always understand, but friends usually do.
We're headed to Cross Plains this weekend for the annual family game weekend. This year it will be me, Mom, Dad, Granny, Aunt Neva, Dianna, Kyle, Melisa, Trent, and Aunt Faye's family. John's sad to miss it, we'll be up all night playing cards and talking. I'm making cookies and there's always a brisket and plenty of Dr Pepper. This will be the last time I'll be able to attend for a while so I'm going to enjoy it as much as possible.
