Thin skinned

Last night I treated myself to a massage...
It was all very pleasant but, when I was about to leave, the therapist commented on my skin.

He thinks that the reason why I bruise and cut extremely easily it's because the skin layer directly under my epidermis is really thin and it feels very "gritty" to the touch (and that is true - I can feel that ( Read more... )

Having said that, I'm sorry about your skin condition. At least it's not the outer layer...but that can't be pleasant. At least you have a reason for your cutting and bruising, though. I hope it was at least reassuring that the doctor told you it wasn't just you being clumsy.

Thank Jeff.
Sorry about the original picture - I didn't think it was that big (462 x 478 pixels). I have now resized it!

Well haven't been to the doctor yet.
Not that I hold much hope...
I have a different GP from Adrian but at the same surgery (I registered 2 years ago but haven't been yet). And when Adrian was telling his GP about some skin problem probably brought on from his medication, his reply was "Don't put up your hand to your face, and no-one will notice"!

Oh, I misread your original message (I haven't had much sleep lately) and didn't realize that it was a massage therapist who said this to you.

Ah yes, British doctors...not that many American ones are that much better. It was only with my third dermatologist in four years here in New York that I really got what I wanted: a doctor who was willing to inject, cut off, or medicate anything that didn't belong (other doctors would just say, oh, you just have bad skin...live with it...) and I was finally relatively acne-free at 35 (thank you, Accutane!) and ready for television!

The Royal Family are bloodsucking alien lizards - David Icke

The Scotsman - Mon 30 Jan 2006
RUSSELL JACKSON

DAVID Icke, the former sports presenter who once proclaimed himself to be the Son of God, has offered up more of his unusual wisdom, this time claiming that the Royal Family are "bloodsucking alien lizards".

Mr Icke, 53, claims the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh are shape-shifters who drink human blood to look like us.

And the father-of-three says a race of half-human, half-alien creatures has infiltrated all the world's key power positions.

He claims the US president, George W Bush, and his father, the former president, George Bush, are both giant lizards who change into humans

That's different! Those are the alien lizards we KNOW! That doesn't mean we have to like it when their friends and families show up, draining off Earth's resources and sitting around the house drinking all our beer!
