WHAT: Suspicions of infidelity come into the open, polygamy hinting sends someone into “Gimme my space” mode.
Feliciano bit his lip as he scrutinized the dishes he was plating. A bit of Italian that graced the plates he knew was perfect, the gnocchi steaming in a large bowl, covered with a red sauce and plenty of cheese, it was the German part he fretted over. Had he cooked the wurst right this time? Was the Pfefferpotthast too peppery, not peppery enough?
After fretting over the tiny details that kept his mind occupied since he came home and started dinner the real problem started nagging at him. Ludwig seemed so distant and serious these last week. Taking longer hours at work so when Feliciano was home his fiancé almost always wasn’t. Obviously he’d noticed the absences from home and work building. He picked up the plates, handling them just as skillfully as he had when he worked nights and weekends at the pizzeria.
Had he found out about the kiss? Was he going to leave him before he could explain? A dish was nearly dropped, the thought made his heart drop to his toes. No, Ludwig wasn’t irrational he wouldn’t leave… right? The dishes were set down, drinks already at the table as he slid into his seat across from Ludwig, smiling.
“How was work? I tried making some of the stuff I’ve seen you eat, I hope it’s okay.” Still smiling and trying to hide his nervousness he started to serve them both, eyes flickering up to the German when he put the sausage on his plate.
