[Before the Poll -- Backdated]lizzypanNovember 7 2010, 17:01:45 UTC
Elizaveta, once sure that the door was locked and no sound come come through it anymore, turned with her back against the sliding door to stare at Sadiq. It wasn't the best evidence, and she still wasn't sure on how it all added up, but it was the best chance they got. If she was going to convince anyone though, it'd have to be her partner first

It took a lot to calm the brute down, especially when his lip had curled into a smile that bordered on predatory; sadistic even, as if he was about to receive some great joy out of hitting the two girls. Adrenaline was going, but he allowed Elizaveta to pull him backwards, away from the scene and into the security of their room. Sadiq still had fight in him. Pushing Thera was the least he could do right now, and he had yet to give the other girl a swift smack across the cheek. Oh no, the games couldn't be over
( ... )
Elizaveta stared dumbly at her partner. He had... he had reached it. His breaking point. Sadiq had officially lost it. He was lost to her. She had seen him break once, back in junior high. But it wasn't like it was now. He was going to get them killedInstead of feeling worried, or even sad, Lizzy could only feel something in her stomach, churning around and making her cheeks feel warm. Was she actually angry? Yes. Yes she was. Her cheeks went rosy with fury, and her eyes blazes. How could he. How could he even do that to her. She was just at the point of punching everyone as well. The Game Master, the wolves, the rabbits, everyone. Everything was just so fucking frustrating. But Sadiq had beaten her to it. And he was thirsty for a fight. Her hands clenched. Had he already lost all common sense

Sadiq had felt so satisfied with himself, convinced that he'd properly informed Liz that his decision had been made before she ever opened her mouth. As the room grew silent again, he placed his arm at his side once again, standing straight as their eyes bored into one another. Sadiq's careless gaze against her disbelief, two very different shades of green clashing in the deafening silence

Ivan made a statue look animated. When he moved, his joints were identical to that of a marionette from the night before. His hand only moved from it's permanent station over his eyes to his left pocket, feeling the piece of paper there with such delicacy it was as if the paper's edge were sharp as a blade. He could not bring himself to open his eyes unless in the dark. When someone asked for the clue, he gladly gave it, but would not let it out of his possession. He had to pry this from the lifeless fingers of Emiliana; his sister's blood soaked through his hair, clung to Rory's fingers as she soothed his hair back in comfort
( ... )
Oh what she wouldn't do for a cup of licorice tea right now. Two or three tea bags in one cup so that it was so strong the taste lingered in her mouth for ages and the kooky but calming advice that each tea bag would bring. "Grace brings contentment" and other things that could of easily belonged in a fortune cookie. Something from one of them would probably make more sense that what they had so far. She looked at chipped glass she had found to drink from and her hands, red and sticky with blood from fretting over Ivan and his hair. Had she argued with him as she did that? She knew with what had been said she should of cried but..she hadn't. Instead she had laughed, softly and bitterly, what she had witnessed here desensitizing her enough not to cry...had she even done so over a death since Raivis when she held Peter
( ... )
It was there again. The room. Seriously. Not helping his current state. He didn't want to vote yet. The next clue, Ivan's clue, still doesn't add up. Infinite ties? Emi and Natalia must have been bored to death. Literally speaking, that is. Yao, the nervous wreck that he is, drowns all other noise and got the attention of the person beside him, Thera. Any conversation was better than none at all.
"Ties...infinite. Infinity plus one? No. Ties..." These games are for kids, and he wasn't one that's for certain. Mash is for girls, as hangman is for wordplay. Tic-tac-toe was something he would play when he and his college buddies were bored. And it always ends up at
"Cats. They mentioned the first clue was about a cat being with the wolf, yes?"
Thera nodded. "Okay, so..." She shifted against the armrest of the chair and leaned over Yao to peer at the three pictures he held. "We have a cat working with a wolf. A location. And cats games..."
For a long while after that, she was quiet. Thinking. People moved quietly about the room, some taking their turn in the poll booth, others waiting for more information to come. Perhaps waiting for accusations to fly. Either way, she ignored it.
"Emi and Natalia were stuck in this game too..." She finally said quietly. "They had a room. Room Five. But they were killed before we came here..." A hand lifted to rub at the back of her neck. "We probably aren't the first game that's been run," she whispered. "We're probably just replacements. People to fill up the rooms. And when it comes down to only two of us left...then they might be killed off as motivation for the next game."
"The Tic-Tac-Toe games and this... MASH? They are red herrings. They don't apply to us. Emiliana and Natalia were only... occupying their time, is all." He felt Rory's hand constrict around his forearm, nearly defying her warning from before. "In fact, the entirety of the clue is a red herring, unless you know where you're looking. You are drawing up silly things from nowhere. You pay too much attention to the tiny details and you don't notice the big picture. I suggest you keep your mouth shut. Your attention to stupid, tiny details cost innocent lives."
"Fine," Thera's attention lifted to Ivan. "But if you're so certain the clue is a red herring, then I'd like to hear why. The Game Master tells no lies."
