There was a rush in the Gryffindor bathrooms as everyone got ready to go on the Hogsmeade trip. Girls tousled their hair and adjusted their scarves and pushed each other around to get to the sink. Nobody tried to levitate the water to themselves, someone having done so in the past and wreaking the fury of seventeen dripping wet angry witches ( ... )

Gilbert spotted her and started to wave like a mad-man. She did look a little ruffled and her black eye wasn't that bad, reminded her of their first-year days of failed flying, exploring at odd hours and tumbling through secret passages. She was a little more of a man back then (totally not more of one than himself. totally) but she'd turned extremely pretty over the years and he considered himself very lucky, though he'd never tell her, that he got her.

Leading them outside and into the grounds as they started towards the small village, Gilbert cleared his throat, letting his hand casually hang next to hers. "I got stuck in a Vanishing cabinet," he said, grinning, "I thought I could maybe go somewhere exciting but all I did was get really sick... it liked heaved and rolled! Kinda like a boat, but with no gravity."

He looked over at her, smiling slightly. "What did I miss? Anything mega-exciting? I mean nothing that exciting could've happened without me obviously."

Elizaveta noticed his hand dangling next to hers, and looked away for a brief moment while snatching it, linking their fingers together with a blush. "It's cold," she said in defense, averting her eyes. Letting her hand get used to the feeling of Gilbert's, she smiled a little at his stupidness. "You must've felt pretty bad in there." She frowned. "But are you sure you can still go out? I shouldn't have invited you to come with me, should I..." She bit her lip.

"Exciting? You only missed our spectacular loss in Quidditch." Elizaveta growled a little, still frowning. "Those Slytherin snakes... we were so close to winning it all, but no, second place." She sighed. "Other than that, there was a little bit of trauma with love potions here and there, the usual stuff." She smiled slightly. "It was kind of boring, really." Not like she was going to say that she missed him. Of course not.

Oh man she was totally holding his hand. In public. Totally getting some tonight. Or at least to second base, Elizaveta wasn't quite ready to handle the five meters of awesome. This was awesome in itself. He squeezed her hand, smiling a little wider than before, almost running to the nearest group of people and shouting "LOOK, WE'RE HOLDING HANDS."

But Gilbert was more mature than that. Most of the time.

"I bet you still played awesome," he said, "You're a total man out there. Bumping and tackling all those other players. Scoring!" Sighing, he rolled his shoulder, "Man, I'd so be kicking ass out there if I didn't mess up my shoulder when I fought that giant when I was, like, eleven."

Or maybe if he wasn't absolutely terrified of heights.
