Destined
Lying in a field, the wind blowing the long grass to one side the sun slowly fading, their hands entwined heads turned into each other, the sun grazes over the bare skin that can be seen. The wind was like music in the air; he reached his free hand to brush against her forehead to push aside loose hair out of her eyes, slowly caressing her cheek then brushing a finger across her lips.“Sooyoung” the whispered sighed filled the air and ran with the wind.
Kyuhyun woke up startled sitting up in his bed. He dragged a shaky hand through his hair, “Geez” he whispered to himself. Kyuhyun tried to get back to sleep but images from the dream kept racing through his head he turned to his clock it read 3:22am he grumbled to himself. The same dream has been reoccurring for the past six months ever since Joon told everyone on Star King that he and Sooyoung are dating. Kyuhyun sees them everywhere being all loving and cute (cute is not what Kyuhyun calls them, defiantly not).
He never understood why that confession cut him so deep, it was Sooyoung, she’s gorgeous but he never thought of anything more. But when he saw Sooyoung at the Charity Event he felt the wind got knocked out of him she was absolutely stunning all through the night he would steal glances at the stunning beauty. Every time he would see her from then on he would get this funny feeling in his stomach but he ignored it.
Seeing them together for the first time made his chest hurt the sight of them made him feel sick, then the dreams started to happen. Then one day it hit him it was there all along, he was in love with Sooyoung too. He couldn’t even think how it would happen to fall in love without even knowing. But he can’t have her, he knows that she’s out of reach, out of bounds, someone else’s girl. Oh how he wished he knew his feelings before, he couldn’t have known his feelings when he was being her as KyuYoung? I guess life’s a bitch.
Ding, Ding, Ding...
Went off the alarm, Sooyoung reached out an arm out from the blanket and whacked the alarm off, eyes closed still she felt something touching her ear she opened her eyes “Morning love” Joon said staring down at her with the sweetest smile. “Morning” she said turning lying on her back. Joon leaned down and very softly kissed her lips and slowly backed away. Sooyoung pouted at the lost contact “That’s it”, Joon laughed “Well we both know what happens when we deepen the kiss, don’t you have to be at the radio show?” he asked caressing her cheek. “Not for another hour, so...” she wrapped her arms around his neck and gently pulled him down. “If you say so” Joon mumbled deepening the kiss.
“Eh Sooyoung ah, your late” Taeyeon shouted across the room, “I know I’m sorry this won’t happen again” Sooyoung said dropping her bag on the floor. “Yeah you said that before, this always happens when you stay over at Joon’s place”, Taeyeon said giving the younger girl a pointed look. “Not all the time” “Eh, come the rest of the girls are already in there”. They were at Kiss the Radio with Leeteuk and Eunhyuk. The interview started off with questions on what are the girls doing now, halfway through the show some of the other Super Junior boys came, yes that included Kyuhyun.
Leeteuk and Eunhyuk invited them inside to sit in with the girls Donghae sat in between Hyoyeon and Yoona; Shindong sat between Yoona and Sunny. Kyuhyun sat in between Taeyeon and Jessica and right across from him was Sooyoung. They all made jokes, mucked around mimed to songs all good fun it was coming to an end but Leeteuk and Eunhyuk couldn’t help but tease Sooyoung about Joon. Kyuhyun watched her shyly laugh, hit Eunhyuk who was closest to her and go bright red at a few things. Kyuhyun knew that this girl was deeply in love just like him, it hurt him to know it wasn’t him she loved.
The show ended and it was time for pictures, everyone was bunched in together except for Kyuhyun who was on the outs and wasn’t paying attention until Sooyoung grabbed him by the arm and pulled him in close to her “Eh Kyuhyun oppa you got to get in and smile” she said smiling at him then turning to look at the camera. Kyuhyun realized how close she was he could almost feel her body heat; he was staring at her when the first flash came he quickly looked at the camera. Oh god he thought to himself I hope I was looking at her normally.
And as he feared it there it was a picture of him staring at Sooyoung like she was a shining star while she and everyone else were smiling at the camera. This picture and every other picture that was taken that day were all over the net. He only wished no one would notice.
In the SM Entertainment building Joon decided to check out the net, he had spare time in his schedule. He was looking on OMONA, he was scrolling down and spotted Kiss the Radio pictures he smiled at how cute his girlfriend is in every picture he got to the last one his smile turned into a frown he saw Kyuhyun looking at his girlfriend the way he looks at her. He studied the picture a little bit longer he wondered how long Kyuhyun had felt this way about Sooyoung he didn’t want to think about it anymore he turned off the computer and went back to his schedule.
Sooyoung had a busy day she couldn’t wait to see Joon; MBLAQ is practicing at SM building so Sooyoung decided to go meet Joon there. Sooyoung was walking down the hall when she heard singing from one of the rooms she knows that voice, she opened the door and there she saw Kyuhyun she smiled she was always a fan of his voice. She waited till he finished singing.
“You can still wow me with your voice” Kyuhyun turned around that funny feeling burst into his stomach. He let out a shaky laugh “Thanks, what are you doing here Sooyoung ssi?” he asked. “I could ask you the same question; I’m here to see Joon” she said sitting on one of the chairs in the room. “Oh. Of course, I just wanted to work on this song” he said sitting down in the seat next to her. “Is it for the new album?” she asked looking at him. “Yeah it is, it’s a ballad and…”Kyuhyun stopped he finally made eye contact his words got caught in his throat.
“And?” Sooyoung asked before Kyuhyun could finish Sooyoung’s mobile started beeping, “Ah, sorry” she said and checked her phone. “Oh, it’s Joon I have to go, we’ll talk soon okay?” “Yeah we will” Kyuhyun said with a sad smile which went unnoticed by Sooyoung. Joon was waiting in the hallway for Sooyoung, “Yah, Lee Joon” Joon turned around grinning from ear to ear;
Sooyoung jumped into his arms and kissed him. “Well what was that for?” Joon said still grinning; “Because I love you, and I missed you today” Sooyoung said grinning. Joon picked her up so her feet were above the ground and twirled her he kissed her. “And what was that for?” she asked giggling. “Because I love you too and missed you” he said nuzzling her nose. They didn’t see Kyuhyun further down the hallway his heart breaking, of course they wouldn’t when you’re in love you only see the person you love.
“So what were you doing before you met with me?” Joon asked Sooyoung in the little ice cream place where they sat on stools. “I saw Kyuhyun, he was alone and practicing a song for Super Junior’s new album” she said with her mouth full of ice cream. Joon looked up then “You saw Kyuhyun?” he asked, “Yeah, you know he can still wow me with his voice” she said smiling. “Really wow” Sooyoung looked up at him “Are you okay?”, “Yeah everything’s good, are you ready to leave?” he asked. “Yeah let’s go” they entwined hands and left.
Joon had a guest appearance on Star Golden Bell today and so did Kyuhyun. After the recording everyone was backstage, Joon saw Kyuhyun packing his things he decided to go over to him. “Hey, here” Joon picked up Kyuhyun’s I pod and gave it to him. “Ah thanks” Kyuhyun said putting it in his bag. “Sooyoung said you were practicing a song for the new album yesterday, how’s it going?” Joon asked. Hearing that name Kyuhyun’s heart skips a beat, “Ah yeah it’s going pretty good getting the hang of it”
“I know you like her…love her” Joon said sadness in his voice. Kyuhyun stopped what he was doing and stared at Joon, “What are you...” “I know that look you give her, I give her that look too” Kyuhyun let out a sigh “I’m not going to do anything” “No, it’s okay I know you’re not that kind of person, it’s just…I’m sorry” Joon walked away.
For the past three months Kyuhyun has (tried to) stopped thinking about Sooyoung and moved on. He started to date Seohyun the maknae of SNSD. SeoKyu has a big fan base everyone loved them being together well so he thought. The only problem was he didn’t have that feeling like he did with Sooyoung; his heart never skipped a beat whenever he saw Seohyun. He can’t do this to her, he can’t have her as a fill in she’s an innocent young girl he has to break it off and so he did.
Sooyoung and Joon on the other hand were going strong until a month ago MBLAQ were getting more popular as was SNSD, they didn’t have time to see each other or even call each other a distance started to grow between them. They loved each other still yet it was best for them to break up. For weeks Sooyoung stayed in the SNSD dorm crying to herself, keeping to herself as did Joon he even cried himself to sleep most nights. But the two would never forget what they had together and for each other.
It’s been two years since Sooyoung and Joon’s split, MBLAQ is off in Japan promoting their album, SNSD is taking a break and so is Super Junior. About Sooyoung and Kyuhyun, Kyuhyun told Sooyoung that he has feelings for her at the start of this year; she was surprised but told him she didn’t want to be involved with someone at the moment, he understood and said he will always be here.
A year past, Sooyoung text Kyuhyun to meet her in the fields at 3 o’clock and he did. Once she saw him she smiled he smiled back nervousness started to develop, “Hi I’m glad you came” she said, “What’s up?” Kyuhyun asked, “You know how you said you will always be here” she said looking at him with sad eyes, “Yes” Kyuhyun said, “Can you be here for me now?” Kyuhyun kept quiet
Sooyoung laid on the ground staring up at the sky “Lay with me” she said. Kyuhyun did, they're hands side by side, Kyuhyun gently entwined his hand with hers “I'll be here as long as you need me”. Along with wind Sooyoung cries “I miss him” through the air. Kyuhyun squeezes her hand his own heart breaking for the girl he loves.
