Vid notes: I find myself strangely at a loss for what to say about this vid. It's my ode to the effed up network that is the Borgias family. One of the things that I adore about the show (beyond the pretty) is how adeptly it shows the interconnections within that network, the inequities and the impact that each Borgia has on the other (starting with Rodrigo and his mixed up drive (ambition? God?) to be pope. And how people who get involved with any of them really find themselves carried away on the tide that is Borgia. I entered into The Borgias for Cesare (because seriously, have you looked at him?) but came out in love with Lucrezia. This vid isn't just about her, but I have a feeling I have another vid in me that is. In the end though, this vid belongs to Rodrigo (the Borgia pope), and to Jeremy Irons. If you haven't watched The Borgias, I hope this vid tempts you to check it out! I'll also say what a thrill it was to see this vid on the big screen, at my first VVC, as my first premiere. It was slotted next to some *breathtaking* vids, and I hope it held its own.
Oh, and I'd also absolutely recommend that you check out Sufjan's original version of the song!
