I have no idea. I haven't watched the first season in years and they don't do Lima Loser any more. I think it's being associated with non-cool people (which didn't make sense to me since I thought since half of the glee club is into sports and cheerleading, they'd be the cool ones).
Urban dictionary says:
A term coined on the Fox show "Glee"- meaning a person that won't succeed in life and will be a loser for the rest of his/her life and never amount to anything.
Lima being the town in which the Glee characters live in, or Lost In the Middle of America (L.I.M.A.)
For a lot of people, being stuck in the middle of nowhere (although Lima, Ohio certainly isn't but I could see why people who lived there might think so) is worse than death so they try to leave as soon as they can.
Makes sense to me, honestly. Lost In the Middle of America sounds awful to me, but then I'm a city girl who appreciates how close everything is in Europe!
Glee is... not the best-written show out there, IMO. I watched it for a couple of seasons because I liked the musical numbers, but then they started autotuning them into blandness and I gave up.
I was warned about annoyingness, particularly in that "look, we are lampshading possible prejudice! also minorities can use that status to get ahead!" vein. So I'm not as annoyed as I would be. Plus I hear it gets better. But "fake worthiness" is how it comes off to me. And I like Rachel, Finn etc but the only character I really like is Puck. We'll see though. I do love me a song and dance number.
I'm a huge fan of musicals and music in general, especially acapella mash-ups or old songs done in a new way, so I thought I would love Glee. Unfortunately, the music wasn't enough to save the show. I gave up midway through Season 1.
Harry/Draco. *blinks* Yes, I'm now showing my lack of creativity.
Makes sense. I would have given up around then too if it wasn't for the deal with dora_the_nymph! And yeah, I looooove musicals and acapella and mash-ups so I hoped for more love!

Okay, cheers. So is it like... associated with not being very well-educated? Or parochial or something? What does "Lima loser" specifically imply?

:( Oh no! Luckily my offer to dora_the_nymph was only for one season, so I'll see what I think when I've finished that.
