Camp Nano's over and I'm still typing
I hit 41.5 K words, which is close enough to 50K to rankle but also feels really, really good. The end is in sight for this story, as I know exactly how many scenes are left to have a complete draft, and I've actually already written the ending, so it's the late-middle/climactic confrontation that's left. Huzzah for time-traveling Welsh dragons.
The best thing is, I'm not actually sick of writing, and I have some fannish stuff in the queue to give my brain a break from Dragon's Midwife. And I'm seriously contemplating some in-depth rewatches of SG-1, Hornblower, and Pirates of the Caribbean to help distract me from the everpresentness of my brother's wedding prep and the absolute insanity that is my office right now, so keep an eye out for renewed squeeing from this corner. (Once upon a time I had some meta about the Ancients and the Jedi I wanted to write, maybe I'll finally get around to that this spring????) A rewatch spree would be a good way to distract me during my PT exercises, anyway, so at least one of those is likely to happen soon.
In other news, I was excavating my desk today to finish getting ready for our office move, and found some really fascinating vintage postcards, several of which had messages on them, and one was actually a political activist card. I will try to take some pictures/scan the best ones to share if anyone's curious.
