At the Get Your Ducks In A Roll event (09.28.09)!

It was a pretty good event! I managed to invite my newest Ducks friend Christina over and we enjoyed sampling Fuji apple sake and a "Zamboni" mixed sake drink! Scotty, James Wisnewski (spelling?), Mike Brown and Saku Koivu were all participants as guest sushi preparers. I liked Scotty's roll the best, as he had soft-shell crab in his (and I'm a total sucker for soft-shell crab).
I had initially avoided Wis' roll as it had both jalapeno AND siraichi sauce in it, but it turned out to be much more mild than I had anticipated. Brown's roll was unique (albeit, not very authentic), with his pine nuts and green mango salsa, but it was quite delish! And of course, Saku's was a stand-out as well, with his crab rolls (at least, I think he had crab - I was so impressed with Scotty's roll, I didn't really pay attention to the others, LMFAO). Scotty's rolls ended up gettin' no love from the judges, but meh. I loved it.
At any rate, after the event, the players all came out and mingled with the audience!! It was crazy! Christina and I went a little crazy with our cameras and that's when I went up to Scotty, tapped him on the back and asked if I could take his photo. We then asked Mike Brown and Chris helped me take a photo with my DSi! LOL! (Still need to upload that photo off of my Facebook account).. We eventually were herded out of the restaurant as they were closing up shop, but Scotty Nieds actually hung around and talked to more fans! I kind of felt like I was at an OCAG event, the way we were standing around near the parking lot, just as we do all the time after Meetups. And as usual, security was eyeing us for loitering!! XD Too funny! Awesome times all around for sure!
