To every Anaheim Ducks player...

Dear Anaheim Ducks:

I guess it was just a matter of time, right? Do you hear that? It’s the sound of silence resonating from the empty seats and stands at the Honda Center. It’s the sound of so many feet hitting the turf as so-called “Ducks fans” leap off the bandwagon one after another. It’s the sound of boos raining down in unison from your own home crowd. Get used to it, because if you keep this up, it will be the ONLY sound you’ll hear when this season wraps up and you find yourselves on the golf course while others compete long into June.

In a way, I can’t really blame the fans for bandwagon jumping. You have done nothing to prove that you want to win a game, let alone attempt to compete for the Stanley Cup. Time and time again, we, as loyal fans, have had to sit and watch as you let game after game slip away, forgetting that a hockey game is comprised of three 20-minute periods, not two, not one. You all seem to have forgotten what it took to win it all just two short years ago. You seem to have forgotten that you are teammates who play on a team as a unit.

Instead, what have we been subjected to? Calling each other out in the media, finger pointing and refusing to take responsibility for the situation that you yourselves have created. Are you taking this seriously? Are you even listening? Do you all realize how ridiculous you look at times out there on the ice?

I do not know if a coaching change would provide a solution to the situation that you all find yourselves in. I understand through various sources that perhaps there truly is a need for new blood, but at any rate, team success is still ultimately EACH players’ responsibility without throwing each other under the bus when things go awry.

It is no surprise to me at all that you find yourselves among the cellar dwellers in the Western Conference (and near the bottom of the entire National Hockey League itself). It is also no surprise that we are forced to watch the early success of your rivals up the freeway at Staples Center and be subjected to ridicule and harassment from frenzied and euphoric Kings fans.

You can all rest assured that THIS fan will never cash in her Ducks fan card, that this fan will NEVER leave the bandwagon. However, I cannot speak for the multitudes of other fans who are quickly tiring of your on-ice and off-ice antics.

This madness needs to stop. Immediately.

Thank you,

LockonRyan9
