So I went to Kohl's because I needed some bras ASAP (I have very few in rotation right now, and two of them now need repairs [again] because the under-wire is making a break for it) and I was fairly confident that Target would NOT have a size I can wear, and the stores in the mall would be more expensive (a bra from Torrid is almost $40). Not that I am really certain what my size is (and sizes change from brand to fucking brand), but the 40C and 42Cs I have need bra extenders, so I figured more than a 42 would work. Of course, the Cs stopped at 40. and Ds (which I sometimes wear) were 38. But I found a brand, that have forsaken the arbitrary letter/number system for the tried and true of S-XL, that I could sorta squeeze into and they were about $20 each (sale). I also bought three camisoles that were on sale and a shirt that I grabbed right before the register made of similar material. The camis were a little clinger (and thus, fat enhancing) than I'd have liked, but they and the shirt will be suitable enough for Under Other Things. I almost bought a blouse, but it was on sale for about $20 and wasn't super flattering, and the bras and camis (and shirt) came to about 80 already.
While I was checking out, the cashier asked if I had a Kohl's card, and I answered no, and thus she asked if I was interested in signing up, I'd get additional off, yadda yadda. I figure that it's like the Best Buy or Staples card - free, you get coupons, and spending however much gets you off a small percent. So I sign up, since why not.
Nope, credit card. I thought it was weird that I was asked my soc and how much I make, but since I've only applied for a credit card once before (the B&N one when I was working there - and I did not qualify because of how little I earned :/ ) I honestly was too stupid to understand. This time I was approved (and that's when I started piecing things together), and now I have a Kohl's charge card. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it.
For the con side, I'm not sure how often I would use it at Kohl's (I'm assuming that I can use it other places, since that's how I believe these things work) - there wasn't much in the store that I liked AND fit. I'm not sure if there's an electronic billing option, and it has my SMC homes address, since that's what is on my driver's license still. If there isn't an electronic billing option, then I'm going to have to wait for it to get mailed to me from mom, or argue with them to get the address changed. The limit is $300. I have no idea if that is good or bad.
On the other hand, I probably should have a credit card as back up and to help increase my credit score. And it affects your score every time it's checked, so I've got that dent now anyway. I didn't look around a whole bunch in the store today; there may be non-clothes stuff I'd like or maybe the maternity stuff would be in my size ( :{ ).
Does anyone have a Kohl's card? What do you think?
