I just watched Tim Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and I loved it. Cute, creepy, funny, and a little bit psychotic - just the way I like 'em!
I'm giving a presentation for the
Hillsdale Liberals this week, in which I get to rail against the Drug War. I'm geeked for that, though I'm totally unprepared. I'll have to do some research tomorrow, maybe talk to
Bob (Murphy) for some feedback.
And I just found out that Ed Hudgins, Executive Director of the
Objectivist Center, will be coming to campus to speak for Praxis (Political Economy Club) on November 17th, so I'm looking forward to talking with him again. He'll be speaking on 'the secular/atheistic morality of liberty', or something like that. At
Hillsdale College. I wish him luck, though that might not cut it.
Oh, and Heidi has a
new article on SOLO, and this one has caused quite a stir. I am completely on her side here, but I do find some of the angry responses she has received rather entertaining. She stepped up to the challenged, I backed her, and several people came down on our side, but the atmosphere in the forum was decidedly hostile. She definitely got people's attention, though, and this is a good thing.
Well, I was supposed to go play poker at Offcampustan tonight, and my apologies to those whom I have let down by failing to do so, but I appear to be becoming sick. I've had a bit of a sinus headache, a cough, a sore throat, a runny nose. This ain't no good. It's got me exhausted, beat down like a ten-dollar whore. Now I'm using dirty similes. Ugh. To sleep I go, for many hours to come.
