Thursday
Arrived around 7:30pm got everything up in the room and set up, ice for the cooler, unpacked cosplay, etc. went out for dinner at steak n' shake, picked up comp badges. Stayed up for awhile with Kevin finalizing the Naruto panel. Slept.
Friday
Got up around 8, ate, showered, went over panel with Ryan. Got into Konan cosplay, met up with Kevin, gave panel. Naruto panel went well. There were actually barely any kids/weaboos/narutards in the audience. Probably because it was 1pm on a Friday and most of them were still in school. Fine by me.
Went back up to room, changed into Simon. Hit up the dealers room. Did Funimation's $30 boxset grab bag and got Complete series of Coyote Ragtime Show, Narima Daikon Bros., and Welcome to the NHK. Fuck yeah. Got the last copy of the newest Gurren Lagann art/production book, which came with a free dai-gurren tote bag and double-sided Lagann-hen poster. FUCK YEAH x 2. Spent an alarming amount of money on Garlock/Kamina doujin. 2 were porn 2 were non-yaoi story driven which I totally need to get translated. Curse my lack of kanji knowledge!
Dropped stuff off at room and went to the Gurren Lagann photoshoot. Didn't get any good picks of me with a Kamina due to people being terrified of the big scary DSLR camera. Finally got one of the Garlocks' to take a photo of me with the group reenacting a gurren version of the Beatles Abby Road photo.
Misread the program guide and missed the Matsumoto 5555 panel. *RAGE* Worked on Gintama panel. Wandered around and took photos. Don't really remember what else I did.
Saturday
Got up earlier and helped Kelly get ready for her masquerade practice. Finished Gintama panel. Got into Gintoki and lead the Gintama photoshoot which was even bigger and more successful than last years, yay! Ran upstairs to go over panel with Ryan and Kelly before heading over to the convention center to give it. Got there a little too early and bummed around the dealer's room. Didn't buy anything.
Gave panel, which had a decent crowd. We ad libbed a lot, I thought we sucked, but apparently we were told a lot of people liked it. Went back upstairs, changed into Simon again, ate, wandered. Headed over to the Embassy for the Bromance panel. Was too early and sat in on the Clipomania panel. Won 2 One Piece posters. Went to Bromance Panel lol'd hard. Ate and watched live feed in main lobby of masquerade.
Highlight of the evening press wise was the live feed of Yoshiki of X-Japan. They showed a ridiculously long history of X-Japan video before going back to Yoshiki. They set it up to look like the feed wasn't working on his end, so he left the camera, but then showed up on the actual stage. Press badges got to interview him briefly and he left and the masquerade finally resumed. Only now they had lost about an hour of time so the awards were given out so hastily it was unclear who won what. Yoshiki came out again to give out the final awards which involved Lollapalooza tickets, and X-Japan merch.
Learned that the Embassy caught fire due to a faulty generator. Nothing too serious as it was contained so no rooms were affected. I don't think the late panels probably went on that evening though. Wandered around again aimlessly trying to get more photos in. Went back to room, showered, and packed shit.
Sunday
Slept in a bit. Finished packing, cleaned room, sorted garbage, etc. Hit up dealers room one last time, picked up the Kamina/Simon portrait artbook, and zombieland t shirts. Went back up to room to settle the clusterfuck that was getting all of our shit out of the room. Packed car. Went home.
