okay guys, brace yourselves!

* KILL BILL vol. 2 opens april 15th

* MISS SAIGON will be in dallas may 25th - june 6th

i am so excited!!!!! yes, that did merit 5 exclamation points. i wanted to post this earlier but i didn't think about it until a kill bill ad came on tv. it showed "the bride" kicking ass with her samurai sword and attacking old guys and sexy girls. ah, that sword-wielding maniac, up to her old tricks again! i was so pissed back in january or so when i found out they postponed the premiere. i'm going to see it first thing with marcus... or  michael... [speaking of which, act scores are online that same day. dear friends, is it worth the $8 to see my score early? i think it could almost be a yes]

and MISS SAIGON! the last time the show was here was 1999, i think. musicals only come around every 5-10 years, and i am absolutely ecstatic that it's back before i graduate. i've never seen the show, only heard a few songs. it's written by claude-michel schonberg and alan boubil [same guys who did les mis]. the plot is fascinating, and the music is gorgeous.

in addition, there are many other great musicals to look forward to this summer. the king and i, little shop of horrors, joseph and the amazing technicolor dreamcoat, lord of the dance, and jesus christ superstar, just to name a few.

in other news, i wrote to johns hopkins and ucsd yesterday, asking them about their soccer programs and inviting them to the spring classic this weekend. coach weil of jhu has written back already. he can't come to the tournament, but he suggested that i come visit the campus and speak with him sometime. hopefully, if michael auditions for the peabody later this year, i could tag along and go for a campus visit. if we were to go to school together, johns hopkins would be an excellent choice: the music conservatory and choice of engineering or pre-med for him, and pre-med [and maybe soccer] for me. :) oh wait, i would have to get in first... :(

also, today i applied online for a job at lifetime fitness, that new place opening at north garland and 190. their job fair isn't until the 1st of may, but i figured i'd do it anyway. ai tells me that you can get a free membership if you work there! after having put on some winter weight, i could use a gym membership. also, i'm thinking about applying for a job at the super target there, because target has the cutest stuff.

anyway, that's pretty much what's up right now, besides my "should i stay in debate since i suck and am too poor for camp" dilemma. and being on share team and meeting cool people like chris [matallana, everyone knew him except for me :(], zach, and jose and getting to know people like kevin [amanda's boyfriend] and marquis better. and considering running for nhs officer--except everyone else is too, so i nixed that plan. uhh, so i'm going to run for orchestra vice president and fnhs president, maybe debate secretary. since i've never run for an office, i'm pretty scared. i'm also scared because i'm a dork, and dorks only get pity votes, which aren't enough to win elections.

i'm sorry, this entry was way too long. the point could've been made in a few sentences. [just like ms. cockrell's class! OH SNAP. just kidding, she's a nice lady, she lets me sleep.]

i don't mean to end this on a sad note, but kurt cobain died 10 years ago today :(
