HP rant
This isn't directly related to the Harry Potter book, it's more about this guy that's attempting to ruin the story for other people on LJ...
But if you haven't finished the book and you're planning to, DON'T click this... seriously spoilers ahead.
So this asshole creates a livejournal account and gives away all of the main points of the end of the story on his journal, dumbledoredies_. I don't have a problem with that right off the bat (and besides, his picture of Snape in Mortal Kombat is pretty funny, however insensitive). But then he purposely goes into Harry Potter communities and searches out HP fans, adds them to his friends list and then comments in their journal. So even if someone (like me) wasn't checking LJ for fear of spoilage, when they checked their e-mail they got a comment from "dumbledoredies_".
So I guess this means when the next book comes out, I won't even be able to check my e-mail because people are so mean that they'd rather ruin something for someone else than just sit back and let it happen. The cruelty of this guy just blows my mind.
I, for one, am an extreme believer in karma, so I'm sure it will come back to him. But I just don't see how people get pleasure in ruining something like this for someone else. When you haven't read the books, you don't realize how attached you become to certain characters. And when a character like Dumbledore (or Sirius) dies, it really is sad. I'm not someone who cried for hours and got angry at the world after reading it, but it still made me sad. So I can only imagine the poor people that he (I presume it's a he) ruined it for... much like book 5 was tainted for me.
*sigh* Stuff like that worries me about the world. When people are mean just for the sake of being mean. I don't understand it.
