I had a lovely, fabulous, GREAT night until fucking Elite towing towed my car from Devin's apartment complex. This made me mad on multiple levels:
1) That car is my baby and to have it missing, presumably towed and not stolen, was awful. 2) I was parked right NEXT to a guest spot, because all the guest spots were full. It was a side parking lot, and all the other spaces were empty, however, meaning NO ONE NEEDED THOSE SPOTS. The whole point of towing cars in apartment complexes is to make sure owners have spots. THERE WERE PLENTY, I assure you. Bastards. 3) It was 2:30 a.m., which meant they towed my car sometime between midnight and 2. Gah.
Thankfully I wasn't a DD stranded at some apartment with a bunch of drunkards though, and I had a ride to go retrieve my car. Devin took me out to get it. So now at 3:30 a.m., with 80 less dollars in my checking account (what a rip-off), I have my car back safe and sound.
Prior to that infuriating event, Devin and I had coffee/played Yahtzee at Maude's, then drove around before ending up at Carrabbas for dinner. Then more driving around, which freaked me out because people kept flashing their lights at us, for no apparent reason. All my lights are working, I wasn't using my brights, no wrecks, no cops, so I don't know. I started to think maybe we had a serial killer hiding under my bumper or something.
Then I made the fateful decision to go inside with Dev. Once inside, we discovered a cockroach in his bathroom. After a couple of attempts to kill it with spray-deoderant and febreeze failed, we darted over to my apartment (my car was still there, at this point)and got bug spray. Back at his apartment, we braved the "Corridor of Doom" which is filled with lights and thus filled with bugs. Devin led the way, and said: "Whoa, a huge green grasshopper thing!" Right as he said it, the bug went flying towards him. Devin dodged it, but then the bug came flying right at me (and it was HUGE) so I screamed bloody-murder as I dodged under its flight path (reminded me of dodging frogs to get to Jonathan's apartment). After safely making it in Devin's apartment and after much chanting of: "You do it!" "No, you do it!" we finally killed the bug.
Then of course, I had to work on completing my game of Harry Potter on Xbox (excuse my geek moment), and I went back outside to find my car gone. Yay.
