DISAPPOINTED AND DEFLATED

Bummed out about my stupid journal. I tried switching my layout to one of the newer themes, knowing that it might not work and if it didn't, I wouldn't be able to get my Findus theme back, and sure enough, that's exactly what happened. I've sent a ticket into the LJ support email asking for help on the issue about non-LJ accounts not being able to comment, but I have no idea if I'll get an answer. And I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get my theme back, even though when I was searching around yesterday, I found the place that said all my customized layers were still out there. I just can't figure out how to select them for use as the theme again. GAH.

Did a search in my Outlook calendar at work today and discovered that the last time I had this pinched nerve problem was 2017. That was when I had the MRI and the naprapat treatments. So I've now finally sent a message to our healthcare insurance provider asking what the process is for getting a new appointment, since it was 5 years ago and a different insurance provider then. Hopefully, they reopen that issue and provide a new series of appointments without any problems. Fingers crossed (and tingling).

It's already 8 pm and I'm tired...we just wrestled the bouncy castle down and rolled it up right before it started raining. It's super muggy though the temperature is down a bit from where it's been the rest of this week. We picked it up on Tuesday evening from a former AIC member who rents it out. It's the same one we had at Karin's 18th birthday party and that the club has rented several times for AIC Independence Day parties. But the owner told me it had been in his garage for several years due to the pandemic and even though he got it out and put it up to make sure there were no leaks, he said he wouldn't have time to clean it for us, but he would give us a discount.

I figured it would be a fairly simple hosing down job, but man, was I wrong...it looked like it had been put away wet and then stewed in his garage until the entire thing was covered in a layer of mold. UGH. I spent over an hour hosing, mopping, wiping, hosing, repeat, until the worst of it was removed. Definitely not worth the small discount he gave us, considering my kids are too old to jump in it and won't even be at the party. Anyway, it's relatively clean. We left it up after I cleaned it yesterday to dry, and today we blew it up again and I made the neighbor's kids very happy by going over and telling them to come bounce for an hour. Then we deflated it and rolled it up, right as it started to sprinkle. Whew!

Tomorrow I'm working from home. Anders is leaving with his friend Mats to drive to Denmark...they are going to watch the first part of the Tour de France, which is starting in Copenhagen this year. They'll be gone until sometime late Saturday.

For the curious, I've decided to make the following side dish to bring with me to the part on Sunday: a pasta salad with chicken, radishes, spring onions, mango, chilis, lime juice and a soy mayo dressing. YUM YUM.
