dreams and dreamboats

oooh coming to a screen near you soon: Turn Left Turn Right with the droolsome Kaneshiro Takeshi... :P~~~. think this is the first mandarin book i've picked up since i left school. hope the film captures the feeling of the book - but print-to-screen is always a big challenge since everyone comes away with their own interpretation of any book anyway.

just thinking about Raintree's involvement in the film. Does it truly contribute to nurturing our local production industry?... -_- somehow it's difficult for me to see the big picture. i always come back to thinking that we're just giving money away to foreigners who do not necessary contribute to the growth of the industry. perhaps my thinking is too narrow and short-term.

had big movie dream - well. at first it was a movie, then it changed into theatre. it was Gangs of New York-meets-The Age of Innocence, letter boxed, mention of George Clooney not being able to act. People crying. There was an extra who was wearing one of those boat-like hats. He was really tired, and had to disguise his yawn while on stage. I don't know what all that was about actually.

realised over a convo with buckaroo_banzai that my affinity with murakami's characters is linked to how my dreamworld and realworld lines are blurred. the first time i realised this was probably about 2 years ago. especially dreams that are set in the current time and/or have people i know - they're almost like my memories instead of dreams. i've had moments where i'm thinking if these things really happened. freaks me out. latraviata is right - shouldn't analyse dreams etc. it'll drive you nuts. sometimes though, i'm not even analysing. i'm trying to figure out if it was a dream or if it really happened. damn weird.
