Happy Valentine's/Single Awareness Day!

Feb 14, 2005 15:29

Hi kids. Well, it's that time of year again: yep, you guessed it, Single Awareness Day. Haha... And what a b-e-a-utiful day to be celebrating it! Yeah right. Honestly, I believe Valentine's Day is severely overrated. I mean, what makes today different from all other days? Shouldn't you treasure and love your sweetheart every day of the year and not just on the 14th of February? Well, that's just how I see it. I don't actually celebrate today for several reasons, the main one being that my grandmother died the day before Valentine's Day two years ago. So that kind of throws a shadow on the whole deal.

I spent most of my weekend laid up on the couch. I didn't have anything pressing to do, so I just took it easy and stayed off my ankle. I watched tv for a change, but that got pretty boring. Actually, that was most of my weekend. But that's okay. Crew practice this morning was pretty slack. Travis wasn't there, so Vasily just had us get into groups of three by the ergs, and we each rowed 3000 metres. Wasn't too bad, considering we each rowed 1000 then got about ten minutes to rest until the second set. It was my first time rowing with my ankle brace as well. It felt somewhat awkward, but I could do it. After practice, I iced down my shins and stretched to try to counteract my shin splints. It helped, but not too much. Then I slept until about 11:30 when it became Text Message Monday. Everyone was texting me something today. Fun. The rest of the day will be spent in class, and then I am tutoring Lexa this evening, because we couldn't get together this weekend. Tomorrow morning of course is crew, then it's back to the doctor. (And maybe then I can get some painkillers or something of that sort).

Everyone enjoy their lovey-dovey day! :) Cheers!
