Less Painful Visit

Just got home from the podiatrist. That was fun, and sucked almost two hours out of my morning (including driving). Well I guess it was better than Friday which drained about four hours of my day. I got to talk to Kathy Lee for a while whilst I waited, and she fed me breakfast (angelic girl). Definitely nice to have food in my stomach instead of just coffee. I got fitted for my more permanent brace, which should be interesting to wear. Much more form-fitting than the one I have now. So I'll get that in a few weeks, probably around the time that regattas start. Fabulous. Kathy was a sweetheart and gave me a bottle of Tylenol to kill some of the pain I've been having lately. She said it was better than aspirin, which will just tear up my stomach lining. And that was my visit. Thankfully it wasn't near as painful as the last time.

Had an excellent practice this morning. I finally got to row in the new eight, and wow, it was great. The shoes actually fit, and the seat slid with no problem. Much love for the new boat. I rowed starboard again to try to get used to it, and it's becoming easier. Feathering is somewhat awkward, as I'm used to rolling up with the hand that is now supposed to be pulling. I think all the girls in my boat played the switching sides game this morning, and it went very well. Only a few hiccups when we almost rammed a boat, then rowed bow-first into a buoy. Oops. Fun times. All I can say is that I was in a great mood this morning, I think because the row went so well for a change.

I think I am going to go catch a power nap before my class at one, since I've only had two hours of sleep. I really don't want to crash during my lecture. Cheers!
