Tonight was a gym night, so this morning I left a basket of candy on one of the porch chairs with a sign that I wasn't home, and for my trick-or-treaters to help themselves.
Despite a small note to leave enough for everyone else, I'm pretty sure the first two or three kids emptied the entire stash. One of my pumpkins was smashed when I got home, too.
However, one of my trick-or-treaters left a lumpy, mysterious envelope in my mailbox with my name on it. Inside were two smaller envelopes. One said "Is it a trick, or is it a treat?", and the other said "Is it a treat, or is it a trick?"
I opened the less bulky one first, and three toy crabs fell out. "ONOZ, you have crabs" was written on the card inside. Luckily, the other held some peanut butter and chocolate treats.
