Nate's dad asked us how set we were on Ryan's name. We're pretty darn set. It's one of maybe 3 that we could agree on.

He hands me a slip of paper and tells me that he really really wants us to consider changing it.

Harlan Lee. Well it's not awful.

"I've always wanted a Harley!" he says.

Oh jesus.

Well we really like Ryan, we're used to calling him Ryan and besides, my mom said we're not allowed to change the name because she's already done his scrapbook and can't change it at this point (thank you mom).

"Ohhhh I bet I can talk her into it!" *whips out cellphone and calls my mom*

My mom -ARE THE KIDS OK?!?!?!

"Oh yeah they're fine, say, I think we should get the kids to change the baby's name. I think they should name him Harlan."
"HARLAN?!?! Why on earth Harlan?!"
"I've always wanted a Harley!"
*mom laughs and tells him that he can come and ride Greg's Harley, but he can't change Ryan's name*

Monte is still certain that he can get Greg on his side about this and that Greg can talk mom into talking US into changing his name.

Oh yes. He was serious. I'm 99% sure he was serious.
