This one's really nitpicky, but it can't hurt to ask, right? For an X Men fanfic, I'm trying to identify a poster in Kitty Pryde's bedroom in the first issue of the new Wolverine: First Class comic book. It's set around 1983, but randomly updated to modern. I know they're from different universes, but DC and Marvel have occasionally done crossovers, so I was wondering if Batman and Spidie had ever met.

Reason I'm asking: Andrew from BtVS is having an argument about who would win in a fight - and, being Andrew, I'm pretty sure he'd know if they'd met.

I've been googling for awhile and I need some help of anime watchers. I need a recommendation of a good PG-13 anime that has an English version that gives a good feeling of the Meiji Restoration, or even talks about Commodore Perry and the Black Ships (around 1868-1912). Anyone have any recommendations?

Would "war comics" of a sort have been available in Japan as early as 1905? Apparently, Tokyo Puck began publication in that year, and there was also some interest in American comic strips for children, but it doesn't seem that manga existed, per se, until perhaps the 30s or 40s.
