I don't even know what, but he's coming for you.

1) Book
"Throat" has proved an interesting read thus far. Not great, interesting. I'm a little frustrated with the constant repetition of "I swore", and "I cursed". It's not the best writing, nor am I convinced by the 'love story' that's developing: too much too quickly, really. Part of the story takes place on a NASA base, and there's some unnecessary astronomy nerdery of the highest degree, from which one can extrapolate the writer's extracurricular interests.
What does please me is the portrayal of epilepsy. The story is told in first person, so the character directly describes their seizures, what they feel like when they're coming on and when they occur, what a postictal state is like, so on and so forth. Even the description of absence seizures is right on. It's accurate to the point that I'm convinced that if the author isn't an epileptic themselves, then someone very close to them is.
(My only question is where's the protagonists anticonvulsants? While her seizures are specifically induced by hits to the head -- i.e. a soccer ball to the side of her head -- I would imagine she'd still be on meds.Hell if I know though. I'm the only epileptic I know. Haven't exactly had the opportunity to talk shop with others, and thus can't speak definitively on this particular matter.)

2) Work
I have the closing shift tonight, which I guess isn't really that bad. Thursday nights are typically pretty quiet. It helps that there's a hockey game on. That's good. It means we have time to restock, which is great. Spruced up shelves are always nice.
I did get called in for a couple extra shifts this week, courtesy of Bosslady's general awesome. She knows I'm available, that she can rely on my me, and generous paychecks are always welcome on my end.
I have Friday and Saturday off this week. I suppose that means time to read, write, clean the house a little, and catch up on things that need doing. However, I'm torn as to whether I want to be called in to cover for someone or not. Paycheck and all.

3) Percy Should Know Better
I've been toying with putting this particular fannish thing out there for a while. I figure right now, what the hell. Why not.
Ever wondered about my head canon for a specific character or characters? Probably not, but whatever. Too bad.
Ask me. I'll give you five facts.
Either that, or ask me five questions about a character or characters. I'll answer them based on my head canon.
Go on. Pick your poison. I'm just going to be here puttering away at Katt's favour in the meantime. I know I keep saying that, Katt, but I really am.

4) Percy Should Really Know Better
Good gravy, I'm craving one more espresso. And before you ask, the answer is yes. I know you're judging me.

reading, i don't have a caffeine problem - really, fandom is fun, must be funny in a rich man's world, work, list-y goodness
