Gah, linguistics, you are making my life difficult. By which I mean MADE OF SPECIAL CAKES WITH SPARKLES. See, now that I've been doing research, I feel better about my tendency to establish unsound premises, or to make things up. That, and one of the books I've been reading uses the phrase "direction of address" three times in one sentence. Bad linguist, no verb!

I like talking about words, and Patrick and Pete enjoy abusing them. I am so lame, wow. This has a interesting premise; we've all talked, a thousand times, about the establishment of canon within bandom, and one the really important moments for that, and one that's mythologised by the band is the origins of it all, and Patrick and Pete's first meeting. Which, for the record, is completely adorable, and worthy of much study. Here, it goes to an unusual place, yet remains in-character and understandable. Lovely descriptions; I like Patrick a good deal here, and Pete is engaging. Wait, when did I start comparing my own mental health unfavourably to Pete Wentz's?

In other news, tomorrow is Halloween, and also the day I have a psychiatric evaluation. I am wearing my costume, Geoffrey Tennant, from Slings and Arrows and no, I do not detect a trace of irony ANYWHERE.

Blah. I am ready for things to start getting awesome, come on, world.
