"We welcome the new born savior with undulations!"

Way back in November I mentioned that I joined my dance teacher and another student for my first paying belly dance gig! A local church was hosting a Bethlehem Inn Night and we did a four minute dance segment during the production. It was set up as a dinner theater event that retold the story of the birth of Jesus. Everyone was super nice and they all said that they loved our routine! They hinted that they would love to have us back this year since it's a reoccurring event. I finally have some pictures to share with you guys. Check 'em out!

Betsey, Alisa, and myself.

I made the head dress a week before. THERE WAS GLITTER EVERYWHERE.

Dancing among the crowd. :)

Last week I went to my Aunt and Uncle's house for Passover seder. Even though I don't celebrate the religion anymore it's always nice to see family and eat some delicious food. This year I also discovered that I really love Manischewitz wine. If nothing else the holiday just makes me want to re-watch The Prince of Egypt. Also, re-read The Red Tent and Queenmaker: A Novel of King David's Queen. Both of which are fantastic retellings of classic Bible passages from the perspectives of the women involved.

I'm so excited for Jurassic Park to re-release this Friday! I can't wait to watch it again, especially since I never had the chance to see it on the big screen when it first came out. Also, the Evil Dead remake releases the same day! It looks good, but I know it is going to scare me shitless. The makeup for the demons looks horrifying. It'll be worth it. It's a good weekend for movies overall. :D
