The Truth About Love

Feb 22, 2013 20:45

On Monday I was lucky enough to get the chance to see P!nk in concert in San Jose.

You guys.

There are truly no words for what I experienced.

Let me tell you about just how much I love and appreciate this woman. Her album Missundaztood came out the same year I started high school. Her songs on that album spoke to me on a level I had never experienced with another artist before. I loved the rawness of "Just Like A Pill," the upbeat girl power of "Respect" and "18 Wheeler," and the emotional power of "Family Portrait" (that one especially hit home as my parents were going through a nasty divorce at the time).

Her music makes me feel comfortable and proud to be myself. This was especially helpful in high school, when low self esteem could hit at a moments notice. I truly believe that album (and those to come) helped create the strong woman that I am today. So yeah, I'm not lying when I say this woman is my hero. I love everything she chooses to be and everything she stands for. I really can't thank her enough.

The concert was seriously fucking amazing. There were plenty of high spectacle acts complete with wires and pyro. There were also deep, soulful ballads that let you experience the true range of her powerful voice. I was able to snap a few photos which you can see under the cut. Also, I found some great videos on youtube that were taken from the pit.

I was able to score a pretty good seat!

It filled up FAST! The show was sold out, which I was so happy about. Pink deserves it!

The Hives were the opening act. The whole band was dressed in tuxes with tailcoats and top hats. It was pretty adorable!
