I need to move out on my own. It's about time, damn it. I need my own space, my own schedule, and the chance to feel like a real adult. It is just so cramped in our apartment right now. John is getting increasingly agitated day by day, and dealing with my mom can be downright depressing at times. The only person I seem to get along with at the moment is Sarah. I just feel that if I move out I can connect with them all on a better level; one where we don't feel trapped.
I'm working on accomplishing this goal. My dad mentioned to me that he wants to help me get my own place soon. Nothing fancy, just a simple studio apartment or something. We're meeting for dinner tomorrow and I hope to talk to him more about it. One of my friends works part time at an apartment complex in an area that I like, so I definitely want to get in touch with her and discuss options. I really need this.
In other news, I'm also trying to find a new job. Don't get me wrong, I am EXTREMELY grateful to even have a job in this economy. However, I don't want to be a receptionist for the rest of my life. I'm looking to try and find something that could possibly lead to a career. I've been searching and applying for jobs in both the film and video game industries. Video games are actually huge in this area; Electronic Arts, Playstation, and Zynga all have locations near me. The first step is just getting my foot in the door. Wish me luck.
On Friday night Alex and I went out with some friends to this awesome pub called The Swingin' Door. They had karaoke downstairs and a dueling piano bar upstairs, both of which were awesome. On Saturday I got my haircut. It's actually the shortest it's ever been, I wanna say it's almost a bob. I really like it! It's cute and SO much easier to manage. On Sunday Alex and I hung outside for most of the day. You guys, it was 73 degrees here! What the hell? I thought it was supposed to be February. I'm not going to complain though, what with the rest of the country being covered in snow. Later in the day we recorded the Superbowl, watched the Puppy Bowl for a while, and then switched back to the Superbowl and fast forwarded through the game to watch the commercials. It was a good weekend overall. :D
