What are you doing?

Well, I had an interesting experience last night. I was driving home from a therapist appointment when Alex and I decided that he should come over and spend the night. I ended up getting to my apartment complex before he did and decided to just wait in the parking lot for him to get there.

I was reading a book in my car and minding my own business when I saw a guy walking on the sidewalk in front of where my car was parked. He seemed to be in his twenty's, dressed in all black and smoking a cigarette. I didn't think much of it until he came up to my drivers side window. I looked up from my book with a 'WTF?' expression. He flashed me a smile and then proceeded to tell me to roll down my window.

Oh, sure, dude-that-I-don't-know! Let me get right on that! Of course I'll roll down my window to a strange man when I'm all alone in a parking lot late at night. That seems like the perfect idea! I continued to give him the 'WTF?' look and replied with a flat NO. I also made the point that I would call the cops if he didn't leave me alone. He seemed to give up and he walked away after that. Alex got there a bit later and it was only then that I got out of the car. I told him about what happened and he was just as confused as I was. Does that technique really work for that dude? Because I see him getting more arrests than potential dates. I don't know, who knows what he was up to. It was creepy either way.

In other news, I've started seeing a therapist on a bi-weekly basis. Dealing with the issues that my mom has been going through has been tough, and it made me realize how much I needed to start talking to someone again. I've been in therapy on and off for years now. I was diagnosed with anxiety at a young age and have been on medication pretty much my whole life. Usually the medication alone is enough, but some extra anxiety has been creeping in lately and I figured I needed some extra help. It's been really good for me so far.

Let's see, what else? Oh, I've started reading Married with Zombies. Thank you, zombres , for that wonderful recommendation, because it is so freaking good! The dialogue is seriously cracking me up, and can I just say how much I LOVE the fact that the protagonists have actually heard of zombies before the outbreak hit. That is so refreshing to see. Normally in film and literature the characters have no idea what zombies are and just refer to them as "the infected" or "the plague." I love how David even references George A. Romero to back up his claim that what they're facing is in fact a zombie apocalypse. Yeah, it's a great book. :D

books, boys, family, zombies, wtf?
