"let's get down to business!"

Sorry for the lack of updates recently. I don't know, not much has been going on in my life at the moment. The biggest thing that's happened is that I took an editing class last weekend. At school they taught us how to use Final Cut Pro, which is one of the big name professional editing systems. However, they never touched on Avid Media Composor, which is another big name in editing. I wanted to learn Avid so that I could add it to my resume, and I found a class through the Bay Area Video Coalition. The class was basically 16 hours of lessons in two days. Yeah, my brain might have been dribbling out of my ears by the end there. It was a really great class, though. I learned a lot! I definitely want to look into taking more classes from them.

Since the class was in the city I decided to stay with my dad for the weekend, since he only lives a few blocks away from the facility. It was really nice to spend time with him. He's definitely missing Amy, so I'm glad I was able to keep him company and take his mind off of things. We went to this great Middle Eastern restaurant on Saturday night called Fattoush. Oh, it was so good! They had really delicious food. I definitely look forward to eating there again. It would have been awesome if they had belly dancers, but there wasn't enough floor space.

What else? Oh, I'm almost done reading Jurassic Park. Holy crap, it is so good! I don't know why it's taken me this long to read it. I really love both the similarities and differences between it and the film version. I would say that it definitely falls in line as one of my favorite books, right alongside it's film version as one of my favorite movies. Speaking of movies, Alex and I should be seeing The Green Hornet this weekend. I've been hearing mixed reviews, but I know that he really wants to see it, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
