I love her I love her I fucking love her."When I come to see conventions and I come to teach them, I'm interested in seeing the individual and the uniqueness of each person. So I'll GIVE you phrases and I'll GIVE you movement but it's really about you transforming it into what your vocabulary is and what your voice is. Because your voice is so. much. more. interesting. than 100 people's voices all together. And so I encourage you to find your own way of movement. Everybody should move differently, everybody has a different... everybody's different, everybody's from... where we come from, through our body types, through our cultures, through our - the way we hear music, through our training, through every. single. thing. so WHY would we want to dance the same? Do you know what I mean? Why. You're different, so be different. Be it. Own it. And just... explode with your individuality."

"I moved into choreography because of my body type. That pushed me because I wasn't able to get a job as a dancer so I was like, well then screw it, I'm just gonna do my own thing."
Like fucking a, imagine if she DID have a dancer body - what we would have missed. I'm sure she would have been an extremely successful dancer in general but the choreography and creativity is what she was made for. [ LINK. she is so fucking cute in this interview. ] "I really would like my career to start moving into directing. It's a natural progression, so I'm definitely moving into that, and I just want to be involved in like, every-- EVERYTHING. I'm also doing a clothing line that dancers can wear like, anytime, and I want to direct films, and lots of stage, BIG STAGE. Like, I wanna be the major competitor of Cirque and it's gonna CLOSE CIRQUE DOWN because it's gonna be all dance and visuals and amazing music. Instead of a circus, it's gonna be dance. And I wanna do some broadway work too - when the right project comes around..."
UM. Okay I seriously have no words. This is why, exactly why, I named my computer Mia. You guys I fucking love her so much I don't even know what to do with myself. I'm serious. Can you imagine her glorious creativity and vision and uniqueness behind a film?! Also, I love her drive, I love how she wants to fucking shut down Cirque Du fucking Soleil with her awesome. Because she knows she can and she makes no apologies for it. WHY CAN'T MORE PEOPLE BE LIKE THIS.

She's just so passionate and unique and brilliant and talented and she really knows who she is and what's she's doing and god, she's talking about how she doesn't even like to say "dance" anymore because the steps are so secondary to the experience of dancing and the storytelling and the feeling of it all and god I miss it, I want to feel that again.

"Now be a person, don't be a dancer-- *pushes down on her shoulder to shove her into plié more* you're still being a dancer, Ashley, you're being a dancer."

"This is stuff professional male dancers would do." ... and she's giving it to two girls. That just makes me so kjshdfjksahfa sdhf kjhskjdhf.
"Don't run like a girl," she tells them. ♥

Seriously, she amazes the shit out of me. And she just got fucking butterfly wings tattooed on her arms and she says the greatest things and she thinks the most magic moment of a rehearsal is someone lighting a cigarette or bitching in the corner and she has eyes in the back of her head and doesn't miss a thing and she sets no limits for herself and she's one of the most beautiful, inspirational, talented people I have ever seen and I could continue this run-on sentence for at least 10,000 more words. I have no idea where this came from, I am just so completely overcome right now. She is such a fucking neat human being.
