Boyfriend's birthday
Today he is turning 29. We sort of celebrated all weekend, doing different things with different people. On Fri. we went with coworkers after work to a large Chinese buffet that serves crab legs...ooh soo good, :) And then surprizingly afterwords, we actually were able to get seats for The Dark Knight at the nearby theater. Brand new theater btw, was opening night. Nice selling tactic on their behalf. The movie was phenomenal btw. All of you naysayers who don't wanna go see it....trust me, GIVE it a chance. It really is THAT f**king awesome! At least rent it when it comes out.
Yesterday didn't turn out so well, but that was all because of bad planning on my behalf. I really TRIED to do right, but ended up messing up, sort of. I spent nearly an hour trying to find the right set of earrings (rings...biker/rocker types wear them in both ears) and I ended up getting the wrong color...*DOH!* His friends are in a band and they were performing at a karaoke bar last night. I managed to leave too late, purely on accident, and ended up getting off on the wrong road and getting lost trying to find my way to this place...*another DOH* I felt really bad too cuz I really wanted to see them and there was some miscommunication from him to me about WHEN they were going on.
However I did have one saving grace. The other gift I got him was a George Carlin dvd of his best stuff...including the infamous, "7 words you can't say on television" skit. Just heard some of his stuff recently when I overheard Ben play it off Youtube. Funny ass s**t! I also learned he recently died. Very tragic, :( Anyway we were watching some this morning and it is good stuff!
Today he and I will be getting together later and hang with another group he's involved in, a car club, that fixed up and refurbs old classic cars/motorcycles. The group is called The Rat Patrol. But this time I'm going to be ON TIME! Tired of getting places late, esp. for his special day.
Anyway...off to bake his cake, :)
