September is almost here, and for many, Labor Day weekend is summer's last hurrah. After a wilting two weeks in the high 90's, I'm ready to let the season go, and the crows calling in the oak outside my office window seem to agree. I’m in the dead heat for the finish of my current WIP, 30K away from the end and only two full weeks left. I’m pushing to wrap this before my sons are out of school and once they are, I plan to take time off with them. It's amazing what a week of living truly unplugged - no computer, very little television (except for Stargate Atlantis on DVD) and no cell reception for the bulk of the time can do to your brain. As far as I can tell, it's all good.

I feel more relaxed, more authentically me and more awake and alive than I have in months.
