I signed the lease for the apartment today. Made out a check for $400 for the security deposit. I've gotta admit, writing out a check that big made me throw up in my mouth a little. I officially have $10 to my name now. Wow. If anybody wants to get me shit for my birthday, money's perfectly okay. I won't think you're cheap and incapable of buying a thought-out present. I have a phone bill to pay!
The landlord guy couldn't be any more flaky and scattered-brain, and it should worry me more than it does. But I still trust him, he's been doing this for years and apparently he's good. His flakiness also translates to easygoing. We're not allowed to have pets, but he says we can have a cat. And we're totally going to get a kitten. And we're naming him Bueller!
I only have one more day of class this week, and then it's only two more weeks of classes. My exams are spaced fine, and I don't have any on my birthday or the day after. I applied to Crossroads 20 and wasn't expecting them to call me back, but they did. The guy said he'd call back May 1st, closer to when I'll be getting out of school, to set up an interview. So if all things go well, I'll be working at the theater, probably at the concessions stand, and hopefully with Daphne. That'd be badass.
I updated solely because I promised Meredith the other day I'd update after we signed the lease just so I had something to talk about. 'Cuz otherwise, I don't have shit to say. I mean, I could talk about the shenanigans my suitemates and myself get into up here, but most people already hear about it or know it, so there's no point in repeating it. And eh, I don't really have much to complain or bitch about anymore, so there's no reason to pour my heart out in this journal anymore. So no one has to read my emo bullshit!
I don't know...overall, I'm pretty happy. I registered for classes the other weekend, and right now I'm taking News Editing on Tuesdays and Thursday, 8-11:50 am. Which, uh, totally blows, I'm gonna be dead those days. But I'm really excited about this class! Then I have History of the World after 1945 at 12-1:45. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, it's...okay, maybe History of the World is on a different day, I can't remember now. Too lazy to look it up. But I also have American Lit and Intro to Mass Comm Law sometime, and hopefully Shakespeare if I get off the waitlist.
