Chapter 7:
Yong Hwa steps into his dorm and sees his members all gathered in the living room. Jonghyun and Minhyuk each are on either ends of the couch while Jungshin is just pacing to and fro in the living room.
"Hyung, you are back! Trouble is brewing. You better do damage control especially where Seohyun is concerned." Jungshin exclaims onces he sees him enter the dorm.
"What damage control are you talking about? Hyuunie? What happened?" Yong Hwa asks the room in general, addressing everyone who is present.
"I assume you have not read the news yet. it is regarding this." Jonhhyun informs him calmly, handing the magazine over.
Taking the magazine from his hands, he looks at the picture and swore his eyes got bigger by several folds.
"Does Hyun know about this? How did this even get blown up. It was a simple hug, granted she did try to plant one on me. I rejected her, you guys were there." He answers, gripping the magazine so hard that is crushing it.
"We know that, Hyung. Most importantly is to explain to Seohyun. Hyoyeon called about an hour ago, she said that Seohyun is coming over. Last I heard is that she is just shock by the news but she is not angry. So just wait until she is here, Hyung." Jungshin says as he continue to pace back and forth the length of the living room.
Yong Hwa waited in the living room for 2 hours and he felt something was not right since the journey between their dorms is roughly about an hour apart. She should have been here already. Worried, he has been trying to reach her through her mobile for the past hour.
Jonghyun suddenly comes out his room looking as though someone has died which made Yong Hwa dread even more for what he is about to hear.
"Hyung, I have bad news. It is regarding Seohyun. Yoona called to inform me that she has met with an accident."
"What?! Which hospital is she in?! Gather the boys, we are leaving now!" He exclaims as he stands up to grab the car keys that was lying on the table, trying to ignore the sinking feeling in his stomach.
Many questions ran through his mind. Is she all right? Was it a serious accident? Is she conscious? These thoughts were just running through his head until Jonghyun puts his hand on his shoulder and gently pry the keys from his hands.
“I will do the driving, Hyung. You are in not state to drive. I will go round up the boys and get us there as soon as possible.” Jonghyun tells him before scurrying off to gather the 2 maknaes.
They reach the designated hospital in record time. They rushed to the level that she is in and only slowed when they sees the crucial 8 girls. Taeyeon look towards them, giving Yong Hwa a really hard stare before inclining her head towards the others to tell them that the brothers in law have arrived. Suddenly, he was face to face with 8 very dark glances.
"How is she? Is it serious?" Yong Hwa asks the girls, feeling the panic rising steadily with each second of silence.
"She is stable, just suffered head trauma with no injuries since she was wearing her seatbelt and the speed at she was driving normal, not speeding. We are just waiting for her to wake up.” Hyoyeon explains.
“Can I go in and see her?” He asks. As soon as the words left his mouth, he wished he did not just ask them them since Taeyeon and Jessica's expression got even darker.
“Not yet, not until we have a talk, Yong Hwa-ssi. We will talk outside at the parking lot since we cannot guarantee that the conversation will be quiet throughout. You boys stay here, do let us know once there is a chance in her condition.” Taeyeon coldly instructs Yong Hwa and his boys before she turn her heel and stalked off.
Sooyoung and Hyoyeon hangs back, letting the others walk off before turning to the 4 worried boys.
“First, we would like to apologise since we are not always this rude. Don't mind Taeyeon unnie, she is just really worried for her. She is not just our maknae but she is our sister. Therefore, she is extremely precious.” Hyoyeon begins, bowing slightly to them.
“However, both of us trust that you have an explanation for this. Just be prepared for possible explosions. Jessica unnie has been holding it in for quite a while now. Okay, now that we have given you a fair warning. Shall we? The sooner we settle this, the sooner you will get to see her.” Sooyoung explains.
Nodding, Yong Hwa silently follows the girls out into the parking lot where the rest waited patiently. He cannot believe he is about to feel the wrath of angry Soshi. Suddenly, he wishes that he is one of the boys.
"What were you thinking?! Did you even consider Hyunnie's feelings if she was to read this?!" Jessica shouted at him. Sensing that they may still be well in earshot of passer-bys, they dragged him to a secluded corner of the parking lot.
"It was blown out of proportion. I rejected her advances but she did get the hint and tried to come on again. That was when the photo was snapped. I did not do anything wrong that will make Hyunnie doubt her trust for me. I love her.” Yong explains, trying his best to appease 8 very angry girls.
“how do you explain why you did not tell her about her hugging you when asked about your concert?” Yuri fires out.
“How did she know about the hug before the picture even came out?” Yong Hwa asks.
“How would she not know? Have you forgotten who is her close friend? Nicole would have told her.” Taeyeon comments sarcastically.
“Sorry to interrupt. The doctor said she is awake. But…” Jonghyun tells them but before he could finish. His leader and Hyun’s sisters have rushed back into the building heading towards the room. Sighing, they are in for a surprise.
Yong Hwa enters and sees Hyun awake. She look so pale and realize she looks really frail and tired, Apparently, his nasty rumour with Hara cause her more stress than she was willing to let on. He immediately felt guilty for not informing her properly and not assuring her enough that she is the one that matters in his life.
“Hyunnie, you are awake. Are you all right? The doctors said you suffered head trauma.” Yong says as he takes her hand and sitting down beside her and giving it a soft kissfeeling extremely relieved that she is awake and it was nothing serious.
Looking at her sisters before turning to look at him strangely. She softly asks “I am sorry but I don’t think I know you.”
For the second time in the same night, Yong Hwa felt his stomach sink again. It was just a slight head trauma, it was nothing serious to render her memory loss. He felt his heart break into pieces and without a word he drops her hand back onto the bed before heading out. He needed to calm down and let the facts sink in. She lost her memory and she has forgotten who he is to her.
“The doctor rushed in after you left with Hyoyeon and Sooyoung-ssi. We assumed that she is awake. Then the doctor came out to inform us that she suffered a temporary memory loss. it was the result of the head trauma she suffered. They ran some tests and assured us that it is nothing serious. She just needs time to regain back her memories.” Jonghyun explains to Yong Hwa and Taeyeon who came out a few seconds later after their leader.
Seeing how sad he looks, the SNSD leader heaves a huge sigh and tells him that they are not mad at him but just really worried and frustrated that their Hyunnie seems to be the last one to know. She tells if he could stay if he wanted to before turning to head back to the room.
“hyung, why don’t we go back to change our clothes and freshen up before coming back here again. I have to admit we all look like crap.” Minhyuk says as he guides everyone to the entrance to head to the car.
Meanwhile, the girls realizes that Hyun retains most of her memory about her career and life with SNSD but there were some missing details here and there but she has totally forgotten about her sting in We Got Married, knowing Yong Hwa and who he is to her now. They realize that Yong Hwa will have a harder time trying to trigger her memory and they are still having two minds as to whether they want to help him or not.
Hyun was thinking a bout the strange guy that was right beside her just now. He seems awfully familiar to her but yet she could not remember. All she know was that his hand that held hers just now was warm and achingly familiar but she just cannot remember
