Chapter 6:
Yong Hwa woke up and his gaze automatically drifted to the sleeping figure next to him. Smiling, he uses the chance to see her properly since she always leaves his dorm before the sun rises. It was one of the best night's sleep that he has in a long while and it is all because she is there beside him.
His Joohyun looks so much like a child, her innocence accentuated by the soft glow of the faint sunlight. He decides that she looks cutest when she is sleeping where here she is unguarded. He gently tucks her straying hairs that cover her face behind her ear before running a finger over her cheeks and nose. Planting a soft kiss on her forehead, he gets up to prepare breakfast.
He remembers the last time he made a meal for her was during the show after they came back fro Busan where she met his mother for the first time. His mother fell in love with her immediately and kept reminding him to treasure her. He remembers how happy and contented she looked when she ate the meal he prepared. Taking out the ingredients, he proceeds to make French toast.
He wishes he could have more opportunities to be a better boyfriend for her, able to spend time with her like normal couples do and to do little surprises like how he wishes to. He often feels frustrated when she calls him when she is feeling really down and he could do nothing but to be her listening ear when all he wants to do is appear by her side.
As he puts the finishing touches to the meal, he goes back into their room to wake her. Sitting on the bed next to her, he cannot help but notice that she looks really tired, Japan activities must be taking a toll on her body. He wonder is she is getting enough sleep or is she even sleeping at all.
“Hyunnie, time to wake up. I prepared breakfast.” He says a little regretfully, hating to wake her up from her much needed sleep.
Seeing no response from her, he leans down to kiss her awake while murmuring softly what he just told her earlier.
“Hmmm, it is morning already? You made breakfast? Is it the beef rice you made the last time?” She answers slowly opening her eyes, giving a soft yawn before sitting up to stretch. Taking her hand he leads her outside where the food is already on their mini coffee table.
“I wish it was the beef rice that I made the last time but since I have not have the time to go to the market to stock up on the food, I guess French toast will have to do for now.” He tells her as they sat down on the floor and prepare to tuck into their meal.
“It looks delicious, oppa. It tastes great too.” She comments as she tucks into her meal. Feeling a wave of contentment wash over her since this is the first she ever spend the morning with him ever since they got together. She always needed to leave before everyone is fully awake so that she will avoid detection and get ready for her schedule.
However, since it is their birthday both sides have granted 2 days of free schedule so they are able to spend it together. Smiling to herself, she better not waste whatever time they still have together.
Gathering the dishes, she heads over to the sink to wash them. Suddenly, she felt his arms around her.
"What are you doing, oppa?"
"Hugging you." He answers, planting soft kisses on her neck.
Seeing that she is almost done, he turns her around to give her a kiss. Smiling, he pulls her towards the room to cuddle until they need to leave.

Things at SNSD's was kind of frantic and frustrated over a certain article that was printed. The girls cannot believe their eyes when they saw the picture. All they thought of was how their youngest was going to react when she sees this.
"How could he be so reckless? What is Hyunnie going to think when she sees this?" Yuri exclaims as she reads the article.
"I think it is not how it looks like it is. We should let him explain. He would not do anything that would make Hyun doubt him." Hyoyeon explains.
"Hyo, the photo looks otherwise. Of all the people in the world, why does it have to be Hara again?" Sunny sighs out loud.
"She has always liked him. It cannot be help if she wants to pounce him. I wonder how will Hyunnie react to this. Does the brothers in law know about this?" Tiffany comments.
“They know about it. They assured us that it was Hara that initiated it, Yong was trying his hardest to push her away but she did not get the hint. They are also really worried how Hyunnie is going to react to this.” Hyoyeon replies.
"I am trying my hardest not to march over to give him a piece of my mind. Where is she by the way?" Taeyeon asks the girls, trying to keep her anger at bay.
“Tell me about it, I want to give him a piece of my mind. He should know better than that. I mean it was their concert. Reporters are going to be everywhere even backstage. He let his guard down too easily there.” Jessica points out agreeing with their leader that they should go over and give them a piece of their mind.
“She texted me that she and Yong Hwa are at their couple home that was used during the show. He apparently bought it as her birthday gift. I agree with Hyoyeon that it must have been blown out of proportion. You do not just buy a house unless you love the girl.” Sooyoung adding her two sense into the situation.
“I think we should not do anything or jump into conclusions until she is back.” Yoona says quietly, earning a nod from the majority of the girls.
it was close to late evening that Hyun came back to the dorm, she noticed something was wrong when her sisters are exceptionally quiet and just sitting at their couch at the living room. A look of relief filled their eyes when they turn to see her back at their dorm.
“Unnies, what happened? You all look really worried. It is starting to worry me.” She asks as she walks over to them.
“Hyunnie, you are back? Have you read the news?” Taeyeon asks as Seohyun takes a seat beside her on the couch.
“No, not yet. Did I miss something important?” She asks them as she reaches for the magazine that was on the coffee table. Looking at the headlining picture, she felt her eyes grow wide in shock.
“Was this taken at their concert recently?” She asks in shock. It was a picture of Yong Hwa and Hara, her arms were around his neck and her face was really close to his as though she is about to give him a kiss.
“It was at the backstage of their concert. I called Jungshin and they assured us that Hara was the one coming on to their leader. Yong Hwa tried to brush her off but she would not get the hint. Nothing happened, Hyunnie. The reporter’s position and angle was really "good" which is why the picture turned out like this.” Hyoyeon explains to her still shell-shocked maknae.
“Does Yong oppa know about this already? I don’t understand why he did not tell me. I mean he just told me that KARA came to congratulate him and the boys. Nicole told me it was a small hug but the picture seems to suggest something more.”
“It is just blown out of proportion, Hyunnie. You and Yong Hwa just need a good talk to work it out. I trust Yong oppa, he loves you and bought the couple house for you. He will not be so stupid as to do anything that will make you doubt your trust in him.” Sooyoung reasons, trying to lessen the blow it is causing her sister.
“Yes, I think I will go over to his place and talk to him about it. I trust him but it is just a huge shock that is all. You are right, I may be making a mountain out of a molehill with this. Hyoyeon unnie, may I borrow the car? I will drive over now.” Hyun says standing up to grab her coat.
A drive would do her good, she needs to calm down, gather her thoughts and to look at it rationally. Her boyfriend loves her and has done so much for her, it was just blown out of proportion. Wrong timing, wrong angle and blame it on the reporter’s “prime” position. It means nothing. After all, she spoke to Nicole who assured her that it was just a simple hug in support of a fellow friend in the industry.
Besides, Hara is aware that they are dating and so she will know how to back off right? Granted she does talk about her admiration for Yong Hwa in shows but it means nothing since she is not the one in a relationship with him.
She was still thinking about the picture without knowing the car’s direction and which lane she was on. By the time she shifted her focus back onto the road conditions, all she sees were flashing white lights coming towards her. She immediately swerve towards the right trying to avoid the truck but instead she crashes into one of the street lamps on the side of the road. She banged her head really hard against the steering wheel and her vision immediately went dark as she lost her conscious.
