That is more formal, the singular imperative, informal would be:
Togliti le scarpe!

the one i wrote is "one is requested to take off from themself the shoes", the one ninchia wrote is "take off from yourself the shoes!". also there's no implied "please" in the informal one, it's more of an exasperated command to my ears.

haha i totally missed the informal part, i just thought of a sign asking someone and that's what i'd recommend.
