I was vacuuming for the first time here, and suddenly I hear a "WHOMPFHPFH" . So I turn off the vacuum and flip it over. There are relatively few hairs stuck up in the spinning brush, but it won't spin at all. So I cut them out and slowly get the thing to move again. And when I restart the vacuum, it won't spin. So now I need to get that fixed. Maybe Josh will be handy and will fix it himself.
Luckily I only had the bedroom left to vacuum. I bet I used that vacuum a total of 5 or 7 times in the last two years.
We went to Home Depot to get a plastic ring to stop the washer hose from leaking. So we went to the washing machine section, which I thought was pointless, but Josh was like no, all the washing machine fix it parts will be here. And I was like, oh, I thought little generic rubber rings that go on all types of tubing would be in the rubber rings section. And so we walk all around the washers, and finally find a 5 ft long wall with some washer/stove/dryer/oven fix it parts. And I found the actual tube that the rubber ring went into. Josh did not see it. We walked away, walked many other places, before I mentioned the tube thing for the washer (it's the hose that brings the water from the spout to the washer), and Josh was like "really, I didn't see it?" and I was like "how couldn't you see it...it was the only thing that dealt with washing machines on that wall." So we walked back. And still there were no little rubber rings there...but Josh did inspect the hoses. One was 14$ and one was $23. Josh almost got the $14 one, but then he read on the back - Insert Rubber Rings Before Using. And the hose didn't come with the rubber rings. So it was a good thing we didn't get that. So we walked around some more and finally got to the sink/plumbing/hose/rubber ring section. There were ALL KINDS of rubber rings and leaky water fix it things to choose from. Then I picked out the rubber rings and was way ready to go...but Josh actually hadn't made it down that far and I had to wait for him, and then he had to inspect all of the rubber rings and confirm for himself that the ones I picked out were indeed the ones we needed.
Wow. Welcome to the exciting life of Lindy....vacuums and rubber rings.
Oh, ending of the story...when we put the rubber ring on the old hose, it still leaked. Then the next morning Josh got to thinking and got out his monkey wrench and tightened it. No more leaking.
