... has arrived. It was prompt and contained my manuscript (so I can use it for the next publisher on the list) so I should be happy about that at least. The rejection letter in itself was short, to the point and decent. One down, three to go.

After five months of courtship Publisher 1 finally dumps Udda without ceremony. Darn it all to hell. The list of things he found lacking is sadly long and irrefutable.  I got my third rejection-letter today (not three in one day, three total). It was the short-short version where they say that they've read my manuscript with pleasure but sadly have to reject me.  Another rejection letter showed up in my in-box yesterday. This one was good and bad mixed. They can't accept my book and they make no promises BUT, they would like to see it again after I've worked on it along some guide lines they mentioned. I'm supposed to call the editor tomorrow for more information. Yay! I think?... 

I've been thinking and talking with boss about one of the opinions I got from the publishing house. If my 'lad in distress' was a damsel instead; would they think of him/her as an object then? His role in the story is the same as many a heroine's, and they're not normally criticized for being the 'treasure to find'... Is it more visible because he' ( Read more... )

Well, last night it happened- I got a thin envelope from one of the publishing houses. The cool kids don't want to play with Udda. It was expected and I wasn't disappointed since I got the second best thing- I got their opinion of the book.
