the coolest job!

It's an ad for two placements as a technician for handling fingerprints for the police. I'm not sure what the english is for it but it's called a daktylog in swedish. I can't believe I'll just have to apply for it, no previous education or anything. They said that they go more for personal qualities. They didn't ask for anything I didn't have so I'll apply and keep my fingers crossed. I know it sounds silly but really- they didn't even ask for previous experience as a police officer! I think my education as an archaeologist might actually come in handy here! Methodical, thorough, able to see patterns and colors, read and write swedish and english and be able to talk in front of a jury and a judge if called upon to do so, put together reports and being persevering. I'm it!
There are the same drawbacks as with any other job- if it's full time and starts before christmas I'll miss the rest of the course. It'll piss me off to miss out but I'll have to plan for life after school as well. As my friend T's mother says- I'm not getting any younger!
