Hell yeah, it hurts to move!

Ok so a quick post about the week.

1. Teaching was interesting to say the least. Most of my students failed my quiz and didn't do their pre-labs. So, they suck and are unmotivated and I had to kinda kick their asses a bit, which left me feeling bad. (it's been an entire week of over personalizing everything, so when my students did poorly I immediately thought that it was a reflection on me as a "teacher") After talking with other TAs we decided that all of our students are idiots and we just have to make due with what we got. So I feel better about that.

2. Classes are going well. Just trucking along. The weeks rush by faster and faster it seems, which scares me but in a good way. I ended up getting in a huge fight with Will (which also left me feeling horrible) but Dan backed me up in stating that I just finally said everything everyone else was thinking. Even though that still makes me an over-reacting bitch, atleast is it was a bit justified. The fight was basically over the fact that Will started telling Dan and I not to complain/talk about TAing in front of him because he was going to be doing some research that is much harder, much more of a time commitment, and much more important than our "teaching". Well I thought that was a shitty thing to tell us and I told him so, at a vocal volume that I haven't hit since I was probably 15.  So, hooray for hissy-fits. Atleast he is cutting us some slack now.

3. OMG, so this is the best part of the week..... VOLLEYBALL! We practiced for about 2 hrs last night and I can honestly say that I can't walk today. I am so out of shape it's disgusting but I expected as much after having not worked out for pretty much 5 years. It felt so good to play again though. I was insanely happy. It made up for the rough week. Our first game is Monday. So as co-captain (with Dan as official captain) I am trying to organize a practice this weekend. We shall see. I just hope I can work off some of this lactic acid or I'll be useless at the game.

So, hooray for starting volleyball, and starting research next week, and having silly 6th grade-like crushes and just living again. I'm sure I'll be complaining once I feel like I've taken on too much, but for right now I'm just going to enjoy it :)
