Out of the blue, a company I dropped a resume at in August called and wants to interview me tomorrow for a possible job after the first of the year. It's selling landscaping materials (yawn), but it would be closer and likely more hours than the pet store. The I Ching says "Great Abundance!" so send yer mojo, folks, I'll be there at 2pm CST

Today was a hard day to be positive about. I am grateful that I was able to get paid overtime for a trade show that was otherwise pretty much a waste.

Today I am grateful for prop. 8 being overturned, may it be the first of many such victories. I am also grateful for the opportunity to network and schmooze tomorrow on the company dime, and the $10 off coupon for office max that came in the mail today just in time for me to buy more ink and some nice cream linen bond for resume printing.

My new position is pretty interesting. I work in the New Crops department, so we raise, cross and analyze new sorts of ornamentals and veggies. Yesterday I emasculated basil, deflowered hydrangeas and coreopsis (kinky stuff, no?), learned how to cross-pollinate mandevilla vines (such pretty plants), and did a field walk with the rest of the crew, ( Read more... )
