I find myself recommending 3 books most often at parties, or rather 3 trilogies.

One thing I love about the little corner of SF/F fandom we've carved out here on LJ: you get to know your favorite authors as *people*. With cats and bills and quirks and lives. Just found a book that greatly influenced me as a kid, Ram Dass' Be Here Now, fully scanned on the internet! My uncle owned a copy and I loved paging through it, looking at the trippy graphics and thinking about all these strange concepts they never covered in Catholic school ( Read more... ) -
the gratitude project
Today I am grateful for a day spent mostly napping, sleeping off the headache brought on by wine + ice cream + hot tub. I don't regret a thing, though, it was a wonderful, delicious night. T liked her poem and necklace too, so thanks again, sihaya09!

the gratitude project
Today I am grateful that matociquala's ARC of The White City arrived today, autographed in pretty green ink and smelling of new book. :D
I am also grateful that I have a date tonight with T, N, a hot tub, a bottle of muscato and a couple of pints of Ollie's custard.
