Right now I am volunteering, or rather, RSTing to make up for the OCT and NOV drills that I did not attend. I'm helping out by being a 'role player' to some units that will be deploying soon. I watched the memorial service on tv rather than trying find my way around crowds and crowds of people on post.  It was probably best, since I wouldn't have seen as much had I been there.  But still... it would have been cool just to get a glimpse of the President.

So I'm now in the process of getting off of active duty.  Apparently, I have a pre-existing condition, which means that the Army refuses to treat me.  Now I have to find the ways and means to get it done on my own, to which I'm both glad and pissed off at the same time.  I just hope I can get it done soon, because the field season will be starting ( Read more... )

Well, I survived my training days in NJ.  It was pretty cold, but I held up well.  Can't say the same for my comrades from Cali and other warm places.  They froze their asses off!!  I was one of the lucky few that did NOT get sick, so no Sick Call for me.  Now we have a two week break before we have to pack it up again:  more training in CA, then ( Read more... )
